That paint job is nuts, the blood splatter on the armour looks really good. Nice Job.

rwzimmerman wrote:I never really considered the fluff behind them. I just thought they would look cool. But I guess now we know what happened to the Space Wolves 13th chapter. They turned to chaos, that thing that makes some of them look like wolves ran a muck... I guess that minotaur-demon prince is going to be Lehman Russ.

No worries about this idea imho. The Eye of terror is a place in which the Chaos gods warp reality and whole worlds to their very whim.

If you read or look at any of the old fluff Daemon Worlds have chaos marines and daemons and beast men and all manner of horrors running about. Give this fact the idea of beastmen berserkers is not all that far fetched.

It is possible that Khorne fused beast men and berserkers together on a whim or to punish some berzerkers that displeased him, or maybe the nature of a certain daemon world caused the transformation, etc., etc.

Point is this is a perfectly legit idea with plenty of basis in older fluff to justify it and make it seem plausible.

What i like about your model is you didn't take the normal shortcut: simply sticking a beastman's head/arms onto a berserker. It actually looks like a beastman wearing partial power armour. the attention to detail sells it.

Keep modeling and you will have a very cool looking squad/army to be sure...

Nice work! I'd like to see a few armored heads, downward curving horns, longer necks and pistols - but that's just me. Agree that you did a much better thing than just putting beastman heads on berserkers.

looking good so far.
I would raise the heads slightly though - they both look like they're shrugging their shoulders!
A bit of green stuff would do.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

I used the Beastmen Gors and chaos space marines boxed sets. Bestigors may be even better since they have armor on thier legs, but the box is $40 and all they all have two handed weapons. I wanted two single-handed weapons. I may gets some to mix in for variety.

I can't believe the "fluff-worthiness" of these guys has come into question. They're daemonic, humanoid, bloodthirsting man-beasts in power armour. How could theyNOT fit in a Chaos army? Great work man....and uh.....I am still waiting for the minotaur, dude!

...no seriously. Where is it? Hurry.....

Thanks everyone. The minotuar will not be for a couple months. I have SERIOUS hobby ADD problem. I usually buy a box of guys paint 2-3, buy a box of guys paint 2-3, repeat, repeat, repeat...

I promised my self if I bought some guys I would paint the equivalent dollar value of guys before buying something else. So I've got the dollar equivalent of 8 more beastmen (probably will be 8 more khorne beastmen) to paint before buying the minotaurs. The good news is I'm almost done converting the next two beastmen.

I did a similar thing but with bloodletter parts. They look sick if you put blood seeping from their feet so try it with the hoves!

This is great stuff, Im sad that I have too much as it is and can't justify expanding my army.

Also, your images are all.... weird/smudgy. Your camera seems to be doing something funny, im thinking there might be a smudge on the lens.
