I can pretty much say something like that is being drawn any second of any day, about any religion, you've got a lot of feeling offended to do.

Saw the episode and it's pretty funny how these guys are reacting. The whole episode basically is how to depict Mohamed without offending Muslims. Of course they go to the silly lengths to do it. First putting him in a U-haul van. Then the mascot suit since it seems to fit all criteria. None of Mohamed is showing and the suit is padded and what not so even his shape is not shown.
There's also a shot of Buddha snorting coke, no Buddhist outrage yet.
What this reaction basically shows is some Muslims are tight-arsed idiots with no sense of humor and seem to look forward to reasons to be "outraged!".

No one mentioned Jesus.
The only comment directed at Glen Beck dealt with the fact that he profits from the enhancement of anger, which is indisputably true.
The Green Git wrote:
How can anyone in their right mind possibly defend Islamic head sawing feths and try to compare Christians and political opinion show hosts to death threats for cartoons?
No one did any such thing.
A statement was made which indicated that violent extremism is not the sole purview of Islam, and that statement included a reference (among others) to violent, Christian groups. But that does not indicate that all Christians are comparable to militant Islamists, which seems to be the conclusion that you're drawing.
Similarly, the comment about Beck was not a comparison to the act making a death threat, but a comment on the psychological reasons that people watch TV.
The Green Git wrote:

Other than the fact that they believe there is a mandate from God against it? I would think thats enough.
On a side note, this thread is getting really offensive in itself. While I am not a Muslim I one of my best friends is, so while voicing your opinion on the subject is fine, calling all all Muslims "Stupid as feth" is not. Use some common courtesy people! This is why there is a debate on banning the religion based off-topic threads.

Well he did that like what... 4 years ago? And at that time i was 11, very hot-headed and ws easily angered. I mean, it doesn't bother me now, but of course when some says *insert offesive racist term here* to me, I get angry, like moest would, but it's not like i'm gonna murder your family for. I just get angry and get over it 98 seconds later.

So what you are saying here is that you saw the episode, and yet still don't understand that the episode is about making fun of certain religious rules?
There's also a shot of Buddha snorting coke, no Buddhist outrage yet.
That has got to be the most idiotic thing I have seen in a long time... Congratulations

Do you even know anyone that is Muslim? That is one of the most offensive responses yet. While it is a small minority of Muslims that would act upon their outrage, I would say the vast majority are offended. I assume that you yourself are not religious and therefor have no idea how strong feelings are regarding mandates from god.
Do you think someone keeping Kosher would be happy if you fed them pork? How is displaying a picture of the Prophet any different? Its a direct violation of the word of god.

Everyone gets offended. I get offended at my own breath. So what?
Not so vague threats that you are going to stab cartoonists to death in the streets should be universally responded to with derision, distate, and maybe some nice hacker attacks (or JDAM if in the correct jurisdiction). This group's (and I am not saying Muslims I am saying these nutjobs) right to be offended ends at my nose. In the rest of the civilized world a proper response is using your own freedom of speech.
Modquisition on. Having said that I posted the thread to make fun of these nutjobs. Lets all remember Rule #1 and be polite to other posters.

And that's a very mild punishment considering.
I once remember reading about a time one member hacked into a White Supremacy site and made each link in the menu go to a rather infamous video of a horse humping some guy until he died.

Fixed it for you, because your example really wasn't comparable.
There is a huge difference between trying to force someone into violating their own religious beliefs, and violating their religious beliefs yourself. Islam says you shouldn't depict the prophet Muhammad. Hinduism says you shouldn't eat beef. Catholicism says you shouldn't have sex out of wedlock. None of this gives the religious the right to declare that others cannot do these things, no matter how strongly they believe that it's a "mandate from God" that they don't.

Correct, it's hard to find a comparable example that the average reader would be familiar with. The real difference is that Islam does have rules on how society should act, since its traditions were written after the creation of Islamic states. I suppose its equivalent to killing a cow around a Hindu while they are not doing the act themselves they are witnessing it, and more than likely having strong feelings against it.
Automatically Appended Next Post:
Judaism also doesn't allow for man-made representations of g-d.
In Islam the Muhammad is a prophet not a god.
