If by "perfectly balanced" you mean "unbalanced to the point that it makes a seesaw look perfectly balanced", sure.

You know, that kind of argument isn't even worth my time.

I hereby withdraw from arguing with you.

This looks fantastic, I look forward to shaving many hours of my life away by playing it.
Also, Starcraft's is balanced. How balanced is based on how well you hotkey/twitch/micro/anti-spam/build order.

Zergrushes are powerful, but not invincible.

It's fairly simple to make an early game defense if you see them coming.

I actually liked Halo Wars. Even if it was really simple and the Arbiter sucked (Seriously, suicide grunts are terrible and the Arbiter needs to be fully upgraded to be any use at all; compare with Brutes, the Prophet's Jesus beam, and Honor Guard).

I think the game could have been better if they had allowed you more unit types (Like drones, or ranger elites, or the Mongoose, or Pelicans, or Phantoms, or...), but it definitely wasn't anything compared to Starcraft.

The majority of the units you wanted to see didn't exist at the time of the battle for Harvest.

Well with the last patch they made several units more balanced. I have been able to counter almost any kind of rush with careful builds. I still don't have the skill to counter anything though. I did fall in love with the use map settings getting activated. So many good things already. You get to download prior to joining so you dont get kicked just for downloading the map. Only a few bugs when closing and I'm sure that will get worked out.

The greater good needs some moo.

Well, pelicans certainly existed, and although there weren't Phantoms there were definitely Spirit dropships. Drones existed as an engineering unit, but I guess that job was up to the Engineer itself. Ranger Elites existed by Reach, so I don't see why they had to be started after Harvest.

Besides, canon was already pretty screwed up with the whole elites-appearing-before-Reach thing.

Eh, Zerg colors are boring.

Modeled like Zerg would be cooler. Hell, the really old Carnifex model looks just like an ultralisk without a crest and a second pair of legs!

Probably will keep playing DoW2 if SC2 is like the original, not really interested in a game where infantry can kill kilometer long carriers flying a mile in the air. Also, not really fond of the crazy scaling(size) they use in the game, since aforementioned carriers are quite small, as are the battle-cruisers, and are represented as huge in the rendered videos.

you're right, i suppose thats why C&C is so balanced that it's been played as a practical sport over the last 10 years.

oh wait, thats starcraft.

since it directly correlates to your comparison of balance, absolutely.

however, you did completely tear my argument down, with all of your statements and facts abou-- oh wait, you just laughed.

=\

too bad jokes on you, you still think ANY of the c&c games were as good, or even remotely within the same realm of BALANCED as Starcraft.

I actually don't see how Starcraft is unbalanced.

Could you elaborate, Kanluwen?

Also, can we let this not turn into a pissing contest?

Halo Wars' simplicity made it fun, and the obvious link to a universe I like. Unbalanced as hell though. But I didn't care for it's MP, I like achievement hunting that game :3

There's a nifty little trailer/commercial up on YouTube. I guess they premiered it during the NBA Finals. I didn't see it during the last two games but I don't get home from work until around the third quarter anyway.

I played the beta a good amount, got kind of bored of it though. Looking forward to the campaign though, that should be cool.

(Of course, the beta is over but still)
