I do think that the Warriors are best adapted to be jacks-of-all-trades, rather than dedicated CC monsters. We kinda have Genestealers, Raveners, etc. to do that job. Even poisoned termies are way more points-efficient against just about every foe than CC-heavy warriors.

To specifically hunt independent characters or monstrous creatures, implant attacks (on Broodlords) are probably a better deal than boneswords on Warriors.

Ive found that bonesword warrior broods come in handy against certain opponents, and do their job well enough to justify points cost. Close combat heavy marine armies and orks being the primary foe. But they are a solid choice.

I think though that having variety in your tyranid troop choices is very important. I run something like this

4 warriors with boneswords, toxin sacs, deathspitters.

2 squads of 10 genestealers with toxin sacs

2 squads of 10 gaunts

1 tervigon.

It gives me a very hard hitting unit, some fairly decent sneaky disruption units, which are good for getting onto enemy objectives. 2 tarpit/screening units, and a big tough scoring unit that can make more screening units.
