Nah, razor lists are alright, but you don't hear them being shouted about for vanilla, do you? Because we can't take stupidly bad-ass 5 man squads with ccw, pistol, bolter/plasma AND las/plas razor. If we could, however...
No you don't because we take 10 man squad, break them in half, place the heavy weapon in the backfield and use the other half as a mobile pillbox to grab objectives...

If they're not coming towards you, generally you want as many dudes heading towards 'em as possible. Tbh I spose it doesn't really matter at 1k. But I don't play 1k much, and don't vary my lists much.

Don't combat squad if you can help it. true you give your enemy 2 targets instead of one. but TBH in a game over 1000 points you've got a lot of BIG blast stuff going against your guys, and in games under 1000 you need the firepower of a ten man squad to take out other squads quickly.

I think it will all depend on the situation. In an objective game I think it would be wise to combat squad with the ML on an objective and blast away.

Predator - AC and LC sponsons - 120
I'd take 5 combi-meltas and 1 combi-flamer.
With 3 meltas you get 2 hits on average and eventually 2 rolls at the armor penetration table.
It could suffice but seems more like a gamble.

Lose 2 of the sternguard (1 combi-melta and combi-flamer) and take a Razorback with t-l plasma cannon and lascannon.
Gives you some serious anti-armour power and with the librarian attached to the sternguard a very good objective holding force.
