You know what I don't get is how a Neo-Nazi party which is considered far right would have the words "Socialism" in the title because traditionally Socialism is mid-left on the political spectrum which makes the National Socialist Movement a misinforming name for Neo-Nazi party.

Neo Nazis are so far right that they stop being right and start being neo nazis. The modern "conservative" neo nazi doesn't share much of the third Reichs values beyond aggressive xenophobia and racism.

But none of the things you described having anything to do with Socialism hence, why I believe using the word "Socialist" to describe a neo-nazis party confusing.

It's because the Nazis in Germany were called the National Socialist German Workers Party, as they formed as a grab bag of issues built around workers feeling they were pretty hard done by. While anti-semitism, ultra-nationalism and anti-communism were the big ones, there were elements of socialism in there, albeit contrasted by rabid opposition to the Social Democratic Party (the term Nazi was taken as the opposite of the Socialist Sozi) - early Nazi ideology was a bit of a mess.

Then came the Night of Long Knives, when the majority right wing of the Nazis assassinated the leaders of the left wing elements of the party. They kept the name, though.

Sweet.

Not sure how I can be racist against my own race but I'm sure someone has thought of a way.

Testify my sinful white brother! We should get together and figure out how to keep whitey down while reinforcing the monolith of non-white privilege!

When will conservatives learn that "Kill whitey" is just another colourful ethnic greeting, like "Death to America".

I believe we call that class struggle.

We should get together and discuss how the effects of privilege in a white dominated social structure, and how to remove that privilege through the removal on inequality, and contrast that ideal with the reality of efforts to date, which have often consisted of moving a small portion of racial inequality from minorities to the white majority - while taking pains to keep that small amount in the perspective of the greater issue of privilege.

We should, anyway. We will continue posting gibberish about the tragedy of our own personal sufferings at the hands of whatever skin we have, while ignoring any and all benefits of privilege, as that would mean acknowledging we might not be self made Randian supermen.

If you want real comedy about the Canadian Human Rights Tribunals, and why nobody in Canada takes them seriously, read one of Mark Steyn's better columns on the subject in Maclean's.

For you are Americans and need a point of reference, being covered by Steyn's column is a bit like being covered in Dave Barry's column: if it was a serious issue then it would be covered in the news section.

That said if the article doesn't make you laugh, then you have no soul.

Yes, and how is that denouncing Mexicans? It's not "Report a Hispanic" or "Report a Mexican" day, it's "Report An Illegal Day", Illegal being anyone who is not legally in the state, whether they are Mexican, Brazilian, English, Polish or Canadian.

Its not. Nurglitch doesn't have a clue.

To the topic. Can we just arrange for the national socialists to meet in the same square as La Mafia. Limit it to chains and sticks. Break out the West Side Story fight music. Get popcorn. Enjoy. If needed Rodney the Shanker and TBone the Terror can demonstrate proper west side story choreographed fighting wiener dog style.

Its on the 5th of May. I mean, its possible that the date was chosen by accident, but it doesn't seem particularly likely; especially given that the 5th is a Wednesday.

Here, obviously

Gee, an event regarding illegal immigration in a state where the majority of this immigration would be coming from south of the border, hosted by a white supremacist organization, and taking place on a holiday associated with the ethnic group popularly seen to contain the majority of illegal immigrants?

Wow a foreigner commenting about 20 losers in a dinky state on the Mexican border. I love Dakka.

Fun fact Mexico doesn't celebrate Cinco De Mayo like the US does. They tend to celebrate the date of the revolution and freedom from Spain. May 5 is just beating the French, who hasn't?

Wrong, again.
The Quasi War of 1804. US Navy 1, French Navy 0.
WWII defeat of French forces in North Africa.

Tour de France. Guy with one ball destroys France's finest. Then does it again. Then does it again. Then does it again...

I can't help but find the "HURR FRENCH PEOPLE SUCK AT WAR" meme amusing considering how much Americans learned from them. Also, the French won you your independence with all those loans.

Oh, you mean the guy that was taking steroids? Another great American tradition.

Nice to hear you're claiming a win on the Quasi-War. I do the same when I get mugged in a dark alley by debt collectors. Likewise if you're going to claim victory against the French in North Africa, then I'm going to claim victory against the USA in the American Civil War for France. After all, lots of Americans got killed, right?

I like this game.

Who's defending Neo Nazis. This is one of the few times Olympia and I are in agreement.

The post after said this:

Well, I do have to say that is an original way to really offend those of Hispanic descent.

My point is its offensive to illegal aliens. Now that I think about yea, on Cinco thats insulting to Mexicans in general. Its still wrong to be French though.

Cinco De Mayo isnt celebrated in the US as a Mexican holiday- as it is NOT Mexican Independence day like many claim. Its not even a real holiday in most of Mexico. Any basic history buff knows it was the day the Mexican army defeated the French at the Battle of De Puebla. So, its a party about kickin the Frenchies in the balls. Big whoop, who hasnt done that?

Its celebrated in the US as a drinking holiday. Much like St Patties day, people dont care about the origin of a holiday if its about drinking rather that some dead guy and a bunch of ancient texts.
