Yeah. 1/2 off Margaritas and $2 Tequila shots.

I knew Cinco de Mayo was a good holiday for some reason.

--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

Nice to hear you're claiming a win on the Quasi-War. I do the same when I get mugged in a dark alley by debt collectors. Likewise if you're going to claim victory against the French in North Africa, then I'm going to claim victory against the USA in the American Civil War for France. After all, lots of Americans got killed, right?

I like this game.

Any basic history buff knows it was the day the Mexican army defeated the French at the Battle of De Puebla. So, its a party about kickin the Frenchies in the balls. Big whoop, who hasnt done that?

Its celebrated in the US as a drinking holiday. Much like St Patties day, people dont care about the origin of a holiday if its about drinking rather that some dead guy and a bunch of ancient texts.

Given that American Neo-Nazis are largely equivalent to white supremacists, it may be thought of as more telling that the date is essentially a reflection of the Mexican influence on American culture. In which case its less about offending Mexicans, and more about making a statement about 'purity'.

Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.

Whoops. Shouldn't have the word 'how' in there.

Sure, but pointing out the odd date chosen for a holiday does not remove the cultural relevance of the holiday. It is a celebration of Mexican culture, albeit with a very heavy emphasis on the drinking.

Neo-nazis picking that day for their report an illegal thing is obviously a deliberate attempt to link being Mexican with being illegal. Given they’re an overtly racist group is anyone surprised? Given their pathetically small numbers, does anyone care?

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something.
