It's a spider tank, the question is not who NEEDS one, the question is who DOESN'T need one.

It's a bit too small for my taste, I would have shelled out some extra bucks for something a tad bulkier. Anyone knows the size of the MIG spider tank? Or knows of other spider tanks on the market?

Thank you

Ramshackles spider is pretty big for the money, http://i755.photobucket.com/albums/xx198/PGWALLIN/IMG_6224.jpg

That's a random picture found through google image search, apologies to whoever owns it.

Thankee kindly for the link sir. That is my very own spider tank sitting next to my Tau forces playing nicely for once. It wasn't so pleasant when it went up against Old Shatter Hands' (from the Tau of War http://tauofwar.blogspot.com) Cadre on a small board. The spider tank isn't fully painted (it's fricking huge) but you can see a battle report on my blog at http://ghostnebulae.blogspot.com/2009/12/battle-report-against-old-shatter-hands.html. There are also some more pictures of the relative size etc. over at the Lead adventure forums. I need to get around to finishing the paintjob but it's such a damn large model I can't find the energy.

As far as the resin quality goes, I've had great experiences with Ramshackle. There are a few air bubbles in some pieces but rarely anything large. The resin can be brittle but it glues strongly and is easy to fix as breaks are clean. The fit of the models has been good too. For the price (particularly the other vehicles) they are a fantastic set of models. The spider tank is the most expensive and complex that the company sells and it's a great centrepiece. The other models are much simpler to assemble and are generally made of a lot fewer parts.

Thankyou also. It's really nice to see the end result but painting on those stripes (~25 for a fire warrior, 50 for a crisis, 100 for a Piranha and 150-200 for a tank) is really tiring after a while. My force has stalled at one battleforce, one crisis suit, 2 piranhas and a skyray. I'm not sure if I will keep it building up, especially with the GW price hike. Maybe if I get the money to pick up some second hand models I will but at the moment, no more tau for me sadly. If I keep going though, I will make sure to continue my stripey camouflage scheme. I imagine them fighting in arid, scrubby areas with low bushes and not much more.
