That was my line of thinking. Delayed, as it were.

I think that's reasonable. I wouldn't be surprised if this situation hadn't even crossed the writer's mind in development.

To be clear though, you are making a rules change (nothing wrong with that) and it could rile uninitiated players.

I wouldn't insist upon it, I'm not that kind of guy.

When it came up in play, everyone in our club was perplexed, and suggested different work-arounds. Really I was more curious as to how others dealt with it, or if it was mentioned in an FAQ somewhere, than seeking a hard answer.

I'd play it that they arrive via deepstrike when they do arrive, they are simply delayed in the warp as the libby tries to find his way to the correct point.

In a tournament you'd be best off checking how they'd rule it before hand, most likey that you walk on as a normal reserve (TOs tend to follow RaW especially when the rules are unclear).

I'm not really worried about tournaments at this point, but if anyone has run into the issue in such an environment, I would love to hear how it was resolved.
