Well, since FFG is releasing the Deathwatch RPG it would make sense to push the Inquisition update forward. I am nothing holding my breath though...

I'm voting for Grey Knights/Inquisition. A few posters have already made these points, but I might as well sum up my reasoning:

-Production codes and product being removed from stores, as well as the inability to purchase either codex (and some models) from the website is the biggest indication in my mind. Time and again, from Imperial Guard to Space Wolves to Tyranids, the pattern plays itself out.

-Deathwatch roleplay book being released around a similar date. Not a solid piece of evidence, but it's been done before. Space Hulk I think was one of those occasions

-Less work to do overall; sure, there might be a lot of new kits that come out with GK/Inq, but there already exist models for things like Chimeras, Land Raiders, Rhinos, and Guardsmen and Space Marines (if given the option to induct). Dark Eldar, though we get the feeling they've been working on them for awhile now, will ultimately have more stuff to release as the entire range is being redone.

-Not sure how much this factors in to GW's thought process on deciding which codex goes first, but despite Dark Eldar being the oldest codex around, few would say it's incapable of being a competitive list, whereas Daemonhunters (and pure GK armies in particular) are very, well, not good.

As for a wager...EDIT: a copy of the Dark Eldar codex if I lose, Grey Knights for me if I win

In the same way as the seabed is very not dry.

No question that Grey Knights need an update - moreso than any other army, I'd say. But that won't factor in to the question of which army gets updated first.

I am fairly convinced that it'll be GK next, but not because they need it - just because all the rumours seem to point that way.

how does the WH dex, sisters squads, and immolators vanishing translate into GK rumors?

Possibility of a combined codex? I honestly don't know what's up with those disappearing when just about all the reliable rumormongers are saying Witchhunters aren't going to be getting their codex for a bit.

In the past, the disappearing dex phenomenon has not indicated a new book is right on its way--just ask SW players. My point is more to question where these GK rumors are coming from. A combined book sounds like wishful thinking to me. At least with DE, reds8n is saying "it's on the way." Not saying he knows all but at least he's a known source.

What? The Space Wolf book was removed within about three months of the new book being released, that's the point I was making.

Between Alpha and Omega, and a little to the left

Both will come out at the same time

Let me explain.

We've been hearing that DE are already at the printers, but we know that Spearhead as well as several Fantasy stuff are going to be first before the next 40k codex. During that time, GW also works furiously on Inq. (or in the case of stand alone codex, copypaste the space marine template and put GK in the blanks), so in a stunning move, two new codex with models are released at the same time. Sales skyrocket, and GW is universally praised. Now obviously, chances of this are slim, but wouldn't it be awesome if it was true?

I'll assume that's pointed at me...

The rumours I was talking about have little to do with Sisters.

My belief that GK are next stems largely from this thread and others like it around the interwebs.

GW doing a double-launch, so that *neither* army gets the spotlight?

Sorry, can't see it.

Hell, at that rate, why not have GW do them as stealth re-launches in the shadow of WFB8 to make things even *less* visible...

Sorry to jump to conclusions then.

@Blarglord: Do you know something we don't, or is that more of a wish than a belief? God knows the 'crons need an update more than DE (Less than GK though)...

Runnin up on ya.

How many times do I have to tell you people; the next codex will be Tau.
