Right now Australia spends about $600 million on border protection, to stop and process about 5,000 refugee claimants, of which about 200 or 300 lack a legitimate claim. That wasn't enough though, the Federal government announced last night that another billion dollars would spent over five years.

It works out at a couple of million dollars for every illegal. Now that's waste done properly.
