True, there really has never been a true Communist country in the world. There has always been an upper caste of the ruling elite. They, holding all the power, will never willingly let it go.

Lenin tried hard to make one, but Stalin pretty much took that idea out back and shot it in the head.

Yes, like everything Stalin disagreed with, Lenin was a true Communist, he held no animosity against people except Capitalists and people he viewed as exploiters of the Proletariat.
It's pretty ironic, I am a staunch Capitlaist and a Liberarian Socially, yet, I know a lot about Communists and how they work. I have always felt Che Guevara was a Stalin-like thug, nothing more.

That's North Korea's or Iran's plan with us. Wouldn't be that hard, launch a Nuke to detonate above our airpsace. Goodbye electronics (and whoever launched it).

North Korea: The politician's version of Dilbert. Complete with pointy haired boss. Who is apparently eternal.
Should they actually prove it, hats off to them. A broken clock is right twice a day. And I applaud the country who will get the science genius via wonderful bribery and/or daring rescue of a kidnapped scientist, if the press hears about it.
Should they fail, I might take bets on what happens to whom. And will be in dire want of the expressions on Mr. Kim's face when it fizzles.
Either way, it'll be entertaining to watch. Success or failure, North Korea provides me with reasons to eat popcorn.

There would have to be a shared agreement on the end state of a communist society for one to ever actually be formed. While Marx’s understanding of class, economics and social structure was incredibly insightful for the time, his predictions of the final outcome of this are vague and quite silly.
Exactly how is a dictatorship of the proletariat supposed to work?
BaronIveagh wrote:Lenin tried hard to make one, but Stalin pretty much took that idea out back and shot it in the head.
Nah, Lenin was basically a tyrant too. So was Trotsky. They probably wouldn’t have committed the purges Stalin undertook, but they were pretty intent on maintaining absolute state control.
If there was to be a more moderate Russian Communist state it would have come from the Mensheviks, who argued for something closer to a social democracy. Lenin hounded them into non-existance.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

Yeah I see that as a very big potential problem. on another subject did you know America has over 8 times more nuclear missiles than are needed to create a post apocalyptic situation. I want to know what their military is planning

Well you see according to Hollywood (where most of our politicians get their scientific knowledge) Nuclear weapons can be used for darn near anything from killing off an alien mother ship as in Independence Day, to stopping a planet killer meteor as in Armageddon, even stopping oil spills, but that last bit came from credible Russian scientists and not Michael Bay so we're treating it with all due skepticism. So you see we're just keeping ourselves ready and preparing for a safer tomorrow.

That's my bad. They weren't supposed to count them for at least a few months.
