The last one will be hard to beat -- it had by far the best soundtrack of any war -- but hopefully the 3d fad in cinema will be over and you can look forward to another 30 odd years of the same story being retold ad nauseum, and lazy "he was a veteran" shorthand instead of actual character development. Or motivation.

Ghost-riding a whip (a word which I can only assume means 'car'), seems like an awfully irresponsible thing to encourage people to do, even for a rapper. Still, pretty funny.

In other news, I'm finding really hard to care that Bristol Palin is going to make some mad bank giving speaches. The whole Palin sort of a celebrity/sort of a politician thing is pretty ridiculous, but I'm starting to think it won't be long before she's just another Lyndon Larouche type character.

I really don't have a problem with Bristol Palin or anyone else charging what they want in an open market. If it's too much, don't go see her. Criticism of capitalism is really better off focussing on structural problems resulting in people receiving a lot less than they're worth.

When I saw this story...I literally facepalmed.

My problem with it has nothing to do with the political views of her mother, but purely at the sheer rediculoussness of paying that girl that much money. When they could get any single 19 year old mother to do the same thing. Oh wait...except they aren't the daughter of a political lightning rod,... yeah that makes their story worth less.

I pity any organization that would actually pay her anything beyond transportation and room and board to speak.

Actually its somewhat fascinating and really helps with the ego. We're into the second part of the W that might drop us into all pretense of not calling this Great Depression II. . There are serious concerns the Euro is dissolving (US$ uber alles you pansy scum! ). North Korea is threatening war if South Korea retaliates for their torpedoing the South Korean ship (which itself is, er uh war). Arizona is threatening to shut off power to LA in retaliation for their boycott. I had to quit reading a CARD book about a civil war between red states and blue startes starting the US empire because its too close to reality. And I am utterly jamming on some Pink in an empty office before everyone else shows up.

But foreigners from all over are desperately interested in the daughter of a failed US VP candidate getting speaking fees, and she's not even hawt.
