Tennesee is a little piece of crap state. What the heck are they moving there for? Is the rent cheaper or something?

Fedex has a huge hub in Memphis, and I believe UPS does as well. Cheap warehousing, ease of shipping to all parts of the country. Many companies have distribution hubs down there now. All GW product ships from Memphis, and all product is stored there. They had space availabe. It will save a ton of money moving HQ down there.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

That makes sence. lol

No,but that does make sense. Cheap property would be my first guess.

Are they keeping the maryland store open though? As long as they do, I could care less

Keeping it open for now, but probably re-locating it out of that industrial park.

The only problem with Tennessee is that its full of Vols fans

Seriously though, as long as the store stays where it is then its all good from where I live. I do not actually have to go "into" Memphis to get there. As for the comment on Memphis being nasty - to me its not as nasty as Richmond VA. It all a matter of taste though I guess.

Any word on if the Bunker is going to be a little bigger though? The old store seemed to have been a little to small to me.

The first time I was in Memphis I went out, drank a lot, and had a great BBQ dinner.

The first time I was in Maryland I turned on the hotel TV and saw a news report of 3 people being shot, 2 being stabbed, and a night club bouncer being SET ON FIRE. I choose to stay in the hotel that night and eat overpriced crappy food.

Screw Maryland and your overcrowded, overpriced, mentally unstable, and crappy inner harbor.

I live in huntsville AL btw and I am happy that the new HQ is 3 hours away instead of 12. =)

The Daily Beast just named Tennessee the most corrupt state in the US. Coincidence...OR CONSPIRACY!?

"Well, isn't the enemy of your enemy, like, your friend? Or whatever? Can't they team up?"
"Not exactly. In this setting, the enemy of your enemy is still a floating, greasy, armored brain."
"Well, what about his enemy? Maybe you could be friends with him."
"No, because that guy is a mechanical horror in an undying battle shell. He sails from world to world in a flying tomb, serving gods who eat hope."

There will still be a Bunker in MD, and they're probably not going to move it from its current location until after GamesDay (end of August). So probably sometime in the early fall.

They're going for a more central location that can serve Baltimore and DC. They've been talking about it, but I just talked to the manager about it again this past weekend and he confirmed all of that.

Not really true...it won't "serve" Baltimore. If you are in the city or north of it, the Bunker is about a 40 minute trip. Where they are thinking of moving it to is about an hour to 90 minutes away. They are mostly going to be catering to the DC southern maryland crowd. Northern Maryland will only have a couple of stores for now.

.Only a fool believes there is such a thing as price gouging. Things have value determined by the creator or merchant. If you don't agree with that value, you are free not to purchase.

Sure, if you think of the bunker as 'my local gaming store' then 40-60 minutes is a bit of a drive. But if the purpose of having something bunker sized is for larger events that people will drive further to get to, then putting it in a spot to serve more people is a decent idea.

The new location is meant to serve the D.C. and Baltimore area well. If you're north of the Bunker it will be a longer ride, but for those people in Northern Virginia that like to go to the Bunker but do so rarely because of the odious trip over the river the new location will at least shorten the total length of the drive.

Yes- the Bunker isn't that close for most people now, as if you're North of Baltimore, you've got to go around the Beltway (or down 95-S) anyway. Glen Burnie is really out of the way for D.C., so this location makes more sense.

There are several GWs north of Baltimore for regular gaming (Owings Mills, White Marsh, and I think Bel Air?), as well as several just south of it in Columbia and Arundel Mills. So it will probably go farther south than that (they've mentioned Laurel a few times as a possibility) so as not to drive out customers from one of their current stores, and to open it up to the northern VA/DC gaming crowd.

Well while I certainly agree with you unless they pass the savings on to the customer why should I particularly care?
