Witch Hunters (mainly sisters of battle).

I really like the fluff and background for the sisters.

Obviously not you melissa

I agree that units are good depending on how you use them. But Melissia has a point too: If you look C:WH, a pure Inquisition army would have Inquisitors, Stormtroopers, and a few things more (archflagellants and penitent engines?). A pure SoB has a lot more of options. So for me, that means that comparing pure lists, SoB win by far. Using allies both lists grow a lot.

I dont care about the metal models, since Ill just get a tactical squad, and put female heads on the models (at least, if Ill go with WH)

Im still not sure what to get though, since I like the SoB but I also love the Grey Knights. This is my point of view:

DH
+ Awesome HQ
+ Grey knights, nuff said
- no vehicles for the grey knights
- I hate deepstriking

WH
+ Just like DH, awesome HQ
+ SoB are only 11 points
- Toughness 3 ...
- Is going to take a lot of time to convert them.

Why would it take a while to convert them? What do you plan on doing?

Heh. That will get you lots of flames from Marine fanboys, whom typically have a near-violent reaction to female Space Marines.

I approve.

I love you xD

Have you ever played a pure Grey Knight army (or against it) and how was it? ;3

The only problem with Femmarine is the pages and pages of pure hate that comes with mentioning them.

The pages and pages of pure hate is not necessarily a problem... sometimes, that's part of the benefit of the army.

But then I dislike rabid Marine fanboys (I'm okay with normal, rational fans...) ALMOST as much as I dislike rabid Blizzard fanboys.

I dont get why people hate female space marines so much.

I mean, those rabid marine fanboys are probably 30 year old virgins who fall in love with female space marines...

CHAOS IS MY MASTER!

But anyway, I personally like Daemon Hunters better than Witch Hunters. They have one of, if not THE coolest HQ character in the game (That guy with the hammer in one hand and an eagle on his other).

I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

Inquisition units suck in the the WH codex, but they work better in DH, as stormtroopers fill in the gaps that Grey knights can't.

Which doesn't exactly say much... the DH codex is rather weak overall. No offense meant, it just is. Possibly the weakest, competitively, out of all of the various codices. They REALLY need an update...

No offense taken. I agree that they (along side necrons and DE) really need an update. but even if they are the weakest, just love the inquisition codex, and I really hope GW don't goof them when they do update them.

Myself, I'm a Witch Hunters fan.

Despite being old the Sisters models are nice and I generally like the rest of the range too.

In terms of units, I tend to like the weird stuff. It's all about the Arco-Flagellants and Penitent Engines for me. My only regret is that my Witch Hunters can't take Demon Hosts.

I've tried to get into Grey Knights a few times, but they just don't turn my crank. It's unfortunate because the models are also quite nice. I'm inclined to think that it's just because I don't tend to be that interested in Space Marines and I think that's because I see a lot of them at the local tourneys.

What you mean they can't take daemon host?
Take an Allied Inquisitor Lord and then take up to 3 daemon host as one allied elite choice.

Mmhmm, you can still do that, until the GK/Inquisition codex gets released sometime late this year / early next year.

WH, only because they are not nearly as expensive points wise.

Am I the only one hoping for Codex:Inquisition that combines DH and WH. It would make this discussion and those like it much easier.

No, you aren't the only one whom has such a disastrous hope of destroying the three factions instead of doing them proper justice.

I have no faith in GW's ability to create a codex combining three wildly different factions. They didn't even manage to do CSMs right, and they're far more similar to eachother than Sisters, Grey Knights, and Inquisition are.

I have no problem with either a combined codex or separate, so long as they're done right. the only differences is that if separate codexes are screwed up, it's more isolated.

Also, if they were to do all three factions correctly and do them all the justice all fifth edition codices have gotten thus far, including special characters and transports, there would be over 100 units in the army list of the codex.

In addition to that, it would be still harder than CSM because if at some point Inquisition is going to be pictured in a standalone codex, then the proper way of present it would be with it's three different parts: Malleus, Hereticus and Xenos. And that's a problem, because it would require the rise of the Deathwatch rules-wise.

So I'm not sure about how they would be better released:

- Codex Inquisition (inc. a Deathwatch unit in the list) + Codex Grey Knights + Codex SoB. This would require some allies rules fluffwise, but we have been told that allies are going to dissapear.

- Codex Ordo Malleus (inc. GK), Codex Ordo Hereticus (inc. SoB), Codex Ordo Xenos (inc. Deathwatch). This would be the easiest, but a possible Codex Ordo Xenos would be quite weak. Deathwatch would have to be expanded to full army size.

I don't see an easy solution at this point.

But personally I would prefer the first one, as I don't give a damn about the Inquisition as an army and want my Sisters to be properly expanded

Grey Knights are the best.

Models won't be invalidated by a new codex and are the most detailed models GW makes. if only for painting you should get some.

I'm surprised DH are leading the poll, I just hope that if the GKT's ever go plastic that they keep the same look ie that they dont become hunchbacks with big swords and halberds, they look so much more elegant than the marine ones at the moment, I do have reservations about plastic GK's of all sorts.

they will likely keep the metal ones in production just because they are awsome.

but i will want some plastic ones for options and conversions.

I prefer Daemonhunters because of the Daemonhosts

Radical Inquisitor + Daemonhost is my favorite

Although I love the sisters fluff and them pretty much in general I hate the fact that their Metal.
