There's a Ravening Hordes list for them if you can find the booklet or PDF.

There's a well-balanced indie GT rulebook. Hey, if it's ok for the GT, it should be ok in your FLGS. That's the book I'm using.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

I voted for not starting an army. :(
Will be doing well to get my daughter's Woodies sorted, and then the BoSP Gobbos and Dwarves done.

Would be great if I could build up the latter armies, especially the dwarves. They are starting to demand a bit of attention from me, but there is so much to be getting on with already.

Not sure exactly why but if I could start a completely new army it would be the Beastie Boys.

I was contemplating this myself.

If you buy from waylands, you can get 100 Skeletons or so, 30 Revenants, and a BSB model for only like $100. Its crazy, because Waylands give's you a big discount on their already discounted stuff!

I will be finishing my Dark Elves first. Then if i for some reason want to build another army (I have 3 unfinished 40k armies to work on) i'll pull out the dwarf book I have (I own a grand total of 1 dwarf model).

Probably going to use Perry/Victrex Napoleonics as Empire. Trick is going to be making that fun to play with and very importantly making it fun to play against. I don't want it to play as a stationary gun line

I am not sure if it counts as "starting a new army" if I already own majority of the models needed, but anyhow, I feel like building Night Goblins and one or two Warriors of Chaos armies (one Nurgle, one Khorne). In the meantime, I may paint some new units for my Empire army and re-paint my old Tzeentch Daemons. All of the armies are more or less started in previous editions but most of them never saw the tabletop (I don't play with unpainted models), so 8th edition gives me a good reason to pick up brush again. I had a test game today with Nurgle Warriors against Empire and the game seemed lot more fun than 7th edition.

That place is the harsh dark future far left with only war left.

I have a bad feeling i"m gonna start a skaven army if they're in the boxed set. Heck, if that happens I might as well do Ogres, too. That'll give me a complete set (sigh).

Just starting into fantasy myself with Dwarfs. What little I tried of fantasy was with the 7th ed rules with a friends Brettonians (really didn't get a good feel for how a good game goes because the friend in question is a notorious power gamer and was using Daemons on me, that still didn't daunt me from the game though ). Picked Dwarfs mostly from the Gotrek and Felix books I've read and decided the models and fluff was awesome.

I'm considering Beastmen, Dwarfs, and Dark Elves.

1. Beastmen just because Minotaurs and chariots are so sweet.
2. Dwarfs - 15" charge range now possible and more dependable War machines.
3. Dark Elves - I would eventually like to build an infantry heavy DE list with lots of warriors and witchelves or Corsairs. Magic would be fun as well.

Maybe Slaaneshi daemons and that is just because of the new models.

I'd love to revist Mordheim and Ostermark for the Empire, my former SoC General Jared von Strudt needs to come back out onto the battlefield.

Sadly thats unlikely to happen until at least this time next year, if not longer.

So in the meantime I'll be continuing to build up my Druchii, and probably making a 1500pt force of High Elves based around the new Warhammer box.

My wife plans on taking on the Skaven, while continuing her WoC.

Dwarves, Empire, Gobbos (but not Orcs), and Skaven.

Dwarves and Empire because they have guns. And guns are cool (duh). Even moreso when they're facing off against medieval enemies.

Gobbos because... well, they're fun! Especially spider riders.

Skaven mostly because they'll soon be easy to get, but I also like the Yakuza feel of Clan Eshin.

The local gaming group has been cajoling me to try Fantasy for a few years now. I flirted with it a while ago but decided not to go through with it when I realized the ridiculous model count in a standard Fantasy army (I play Deathwing in 40k, haha).

When I heard 8th was coming out, I bought a box of High Elf spearmen on a lark and had a great time putting them together and painting them (for some reason it seems like less of a chore than cleaning and assembling Space Marines, I guess because it's still novel). So, High Elves here I come.

Despite what I've read and heard, I'm looking at starting a Bretonnia army because I like knights. Hopefully their new army book isn't too far off, and will give them a bit more of a fighting chance than they currently seem to have.

Mn, when they get a new army book I imagine it'll be adapted to 8th edition and thus be able to kick ass just as well as any other.

My ultimate goal is to have 3 WHFB armies at 2250pts to start with then expand their point ranges from there. I am working on Wood Elves atm. The other two armies I plan on building are High Elves and Beastmen. My FLGS is running a slow grow league beginning in August so I'm going to get in on that. Should be a fun way to learn and play 8th ed.

High Elves: I have a small mix of old High Elf spearmen and archers. I also bought a box of LotR Galadrim to see how they'd look painted up as High Elves (easy source of spears, archers, and swordmasters, since I was too cheap to buy metal swordmasters). Now that HE are in the box set, which I need to buy to get a small rulebook anyway....

Warriors of Chaos: I've always had a chaos army (mixed demons/warriors/beastmen) on the backburner. I'm thinking of making Tzeentch warriors now.

Skaven: Gotta put those starter-set figures to use! I'm not eager to paint endless hordes of rats though.

WHFB: D.Elves 4000, VC 2000, Empire 2000

I was looking at a number of options for my next army. Tomb Kings, O&G, Chaos Mortals, even Empire, but I think I'll be doing Skaven now since I outta be able to get a 1200pt force for a relatively cheap price. I can kit out the rest of it to 2k fairly easy without giving up an arm and a leg.
