Vehicles like Rhinos and Land Raiders are a totally different story.

They're painted in the heraldry and awards that are associated with the squads they're assigned to.

Predators, however, would be in the standard Chapter color scheme. Scouts would too, since all Scouts are considered 10th Company(which uses the standard Chapter colors).

I'd say there's no problem saying Sternguard Vets are Company Vets: In game terms they're just experienced marines issued with better ammunition: Surely that kind of functionality could be applied to Company Veterans in the fluff?

People keep going on about that because the idea of the Avatar being an incarnation of the Eldar God of War while simultaneously the default special character curb-stompee in every codex is just silly. The fact that a Space Marine chapter master can kill an Avatar in the game says more about the game’s lack of a realistic depiction of the Avatar than it does about the fluff’s reflection within the game.

I was just joking anyway. I know your codex got shafted in its last edition but I’m sure you’ll have a special character or two in your next codex somewhere who’s bagged himself an Avatar… things grow on trees you know.

The avatar is just a Deamon. I always been wholly unimpressed by avatars. Chapter Masters are repeatedly described as being the most fearsome warriors in the galaxy. Let alone a Special character Chapter master. I'd put my money on The Chapter Master over the pansey Avatar anyday.

I don't see the comparison between two characters who've died(relatively) recently and people who'd have been dead for a long, long, long, long time barring some Warp shenanigans where they suddenly reappear.

Plus a large number of the "normals" are the ones who went against the Lion if you go off the general tone of the Dark Angels Horus Heresy books.

Either way, the badass normals are the only part of the DA that I really care about.

Then you're going to be sorely disappointed because there were maybe 5 or 6 of them in the entire Chapter.

What can I say? I love badass normals. A pre heresy army based around the chapter's badass normals would be tempting enticing to me.

Well, not so much modelling DA guys, since I hate the majority of the DA fluff short of the badass normals, but making a group of 6 Inquisitor lords who are all generally badass normals. It'd be a wonderful summer project.
