your post was not honest skepticism. You worded your post like it was fact, and then you go even further and state that the whole story is a hoax. I never called you a troll. You still fail, fantastic try, though.
This is what scepticism is, forwarding alternate ideas and theories. they are presented as facts not fiction. Speak with confidence, discuss rationally.

In which case it behooves you to take a calm down or not post. Like I said I am not concerned with whether the sinkhole is fake or not, but the attitude of those who are in the argument.

Obvious fake? Do you happen to be an expert on the subject? Sorry, you fail.
No I am not a geologist. And to apply such quick judgements I suppose you claim you are? You certainly have not shown you can post like someone with an education, so I have good reason to doubt that.
use spell check.
what JUDGMENTS did I pass? What did I claim to be? Nothing. You accuse me of posting without intelligence when you are the one making outrageous claims and statements.
I am more concerned with your poor attitude than anything else. I saw other pictures and reconsider what I said about it looking like a fake. The photos looked fake and I am still sceptical of what this actually is. I still consider it more likely to be a poorly capped pit than a real sinkhole. That volume of rock has to go somewhere.

Do you really think telling me "grow up, little boy", putting words in my mouth, and calling me a troll is having a good attitude? I'll admit I might have gotten a bit over 9000, but cmon man, I have trouble reading your reply talking about the attitude of people in the argument when you are busy being a hypocrite.
And I am sorry but stating Orlanth wrote:Obvious fake.
does not sound skeptical at all....at all. Maybe if you said "I dunno, looks like it could be fake"....or something to that effect.

Please stick to the issues, when you attack people for having different opinions do not be surprised if they ask you to grow up.
You were in a good position to point out what you had found by other means.
Nevermind that.
Anyway back to the issue. I have been trying to find a less 'bottomless pit' version of this phenomena. Without success until now. Estimates of its depth have been revised upwards all day, starting at 100 ft and some now claiming it could be three times that. Videos are also now up in the last few minutes.

I am surprised that there is some Karst areas down in Central America, but then again, the area has lots of caves, but more volcanoes and more seismic activity than the average area with Karst features (where I live and Florida).
Judging by the soil falling away in a giant lump, it is completely possible that a section of the cave ceiling collapsed and dragged down a small section like shown in these pictures.

I've never seen a sinkhole like that, and I live on top of Karst and I've done some caving. I'm not an extremely experienced caver but I know a bit about it. I've seen a lot of sinkholes but not one quite like that. I'm skeptical, but I'm not a geologist and I do know that we have some tremendously deep vertical shafts in TAG ( Tennessee/Georgia/Alabama).
There is Karst in Central America, I know that from what I've read. They have solutional caves, and apparently there are circular patterns of sinkholes that are associated with a meteorite impact which in turn is associated with the K-T boundary. I don't know the geology of it and I've just skimmed it, but it is worth reading.
