Also, Stelek told me it was bad so it must be.
I take the models I like! I just think that's fun and since I still win more often than not I don't see any reason to change. Actually I do it more for the fact that people often dismiss models that they heard sucked until they start wreaking havoc and then may make mistakes in target priority letting other things sneak up on them.. Yeah, I like to play around a little even in tourneys. That's just me.

If they'd put the damn thing in Fast Attack, it would sell and maybe have a use. But against WW, Prisms, Falcons, Wraithlords? Hard to justify.
On a side note, why is it that two of the fastest armies, Eldar and Dark Eldar, are two armies with the crappiest Fast Attack selections?

Rogue Daemonhunter fueled by Chaos

Virtually all pre-5th edition codieces have lousy fast attack. GW overvalued bikes and jump packs even before the rise of Mech in 5th, and KPs hurt small light vehicles.
The only really good pre-5th fast attack are Destroyers. DE, Eldar, Chaos, Demonhunters all have really lousy Fast Attack. DA fast is ok, but only when used as troops. Orks FA is interesting, but often outclassed by other selections outside of 2500+pt games. Tau Pathfinders are actually a really nice FA choice, but would be elites (or troops) in nearly any other codex.
Compare that to Space Marines (Landspeeders), IG (valks, Vendettas, hellhounds), Wolves (speeders again), BA (Baal pred) and even Nids (gargoyles), all of whom have excellent fast attack choices.

Nightspinner looks dastardly dangerous to me... 1/6 chance of wounding pretty much anything in the game, not to mention slowing the advance of enemy assault units... but then again I don't play eldar at all, I just really want one in my Tau army.

Really? I almost never see armies at tournaments that are build exactly as directed on the internet.

Oh I see the internet builds, which is why people will grunt and dismiss things in my army. I've even had people offer before the game to help me improve the list I have; right after they win of course; since they are using a competitve list according to the interwebs. I usually say thanks, massacre them and then let them know that if they bring a list that I have seen repeatedly on the internet that I have a strategy developed before the game even begins. That is the primary disadvantage to those lists. I usually am very friendly and like to have fun but those lists are easier to face. Don't get me wrong, my list is a competitve build, it just includes things that people have automatically dismissed. And includes certain units which I am banking on to draw a lot of fire and die early but keeps the things I want to use alive.
