Wraiths seem pretty awesome to me then. I am guessing if you used some reaper action with a wraith you could essentially drag a caster closer to you =P

If you play hordes, you can use it to try and be lucky and hunt the non-combat support stuff.

In addition, due to the base size, it can't be trampled when corporal. You can even put it base to base to something in between a charge vector to maybe deny a charge to like your caster I believe...very situational though.

If a bane knight is knocked down and gets a vengence move ... what happens?

And since nobody put it out there, an animus is a special ability that all Warbeasts have. Each has their own special animus ability, which they can gain 1 Fury to cast. (almost always a buff of some sort)
If you don't know how Hordes works, basically their beasts gain a Fury for doing anything that a Jack would spend Focus for. Their Warlock (caster) instead of replenishing focus, takes up to their Fury stat from their Warbeasts, and if there's still Fury on any beasts after that, they effectively take a sort of leadership test. (similar to Tyranids out of synapse)

Nope. But the model is required to turn so to face directly towards the centre of the charged model base after completing the charge movement.

The model can't move while KD and can stand up only during its own activation. Vengeance occurs out of activation and so the KD Bane Knight does nothing.

Basically it's another one-up for Bane Thrall UA and/or Gorgers with Slaughterborn.

So what is the best way to keep a unit commander from getting targeted and gibbed?

Keep him a bit back, maybe dedicate a cloud/terrain to keep him safe.

I forget if they need to be in his command range to benefit...else, just leave him back (very gamey) like the standard.

Skarlock is almost useless with eGaspy.

So you wouldnt recomend it for the extra parasite or Excarnate? I thought it would be nice and with eGaspys ablility to block LOS just drop a cloud in front of him after his activation?

Again I am new so if this is a crappy idea or tactic feel free to poke holes till nothing is left hehe =)

I say try it first. I have found that internet wisdom is very dependant upon playstyle.

Aduro could have elaborated a bit as well.

I was told many times to take Skarlock with Denny for the Crippling Grasp.
I find I use it mostly for Ghostwalking through Terrain, while my Arcnodes do the Crippling.
If I get the skarlock close enough to use Crippling, he is usually close enough to be killed the next turn.

It's because eGaspy doesn't have but a couple spells it can cast, and they're all offensive. Get him in a position to use them, and he's probably dead the next turn, plus he can't boost them very often at all.

I find Skarlocks are best suited for cycling buffs around your army. Your Knights are about to charge? Use the Skarlock to give them Scything Tough. Then you can use pGaspy himself to move Scything Touch over to the Bane Thralls before they charge in, ect.

I agree with the Skarlock not doing a whole lot for eGaspy. You want it to be handing out something every turn. From the way it looks, the Skarlock is likely running 2 turns... not good for the investment IMO.

Gorman is a better use of 2 points... cloud to cover p or e Gaspy's big base.

In addition, something to keep in mind, other than forcing the opponent to keep back with all those banes, you'll have a pretty hard time keeping Gaspy out of sight (terrain dependant).

Or maybe a pair War witch siren for the power boosters, 3 jacks (if you need them all to run >10" will need at least 2 Focus, with hellbound you are left with 2 focus for either a teleport or cloud, but not both.

On a seperate note I have almost got my first model completed. I will probably post some pictures tonight of my pGaspy mkII. I love the detail in these models, and they are sooo much cleaner than GW metals.

Yep picked it up last week. I got a big shopping list for a friend heading to origins and I might get some stuff this weekend at diceheads maul in the mall.

You should take advantage of your chosen color scheme. You should use it to mock Menoth. Perhaps your army is what was risen from the dead in a recent conflict?
Oh and you must have some type of effigy of their god being tortured by the Dragonfather. Toruk commands it!

I am having a hard time deciding as well.

It think what you want to run in the rest of the list will dictate the caster.

I think Epic is more defensive. Controllable clouds and able to throw some units away and approach cautiously to have them wreck house again.

Prime lends seems more offensive, becuase outside favorable Breath deviations, jacks, and Gorman, screening is not that great, so you want to go for assassination rather than army wrecker... it's not to say either can't do like the other...but it seems Epic is a bit more specific in approach while Prime is more of.... deliver me and we win...well both are like that

So we have a league going for Warmachine in our local club that goes to 50 pnts.

For the 50 I was thinking this:

Clouds really help me cut off the board to get these units into combat. I played a 35 pnt game last night with pGaspy against a Cygnar warcaster with a feat that lets any unit that hit nominate another unit to hit ...OW On the second turn I lost all but 3 of my bane thralls, canker worm, and a machine wraith. I was still able to use pGaspy and canker to take out the heavy jacks then move up hoarding focus to keep from taking damage and load up on focus from souls. At one point I had 10 focus and used 2 of it to teleport on top of the enemy warcaster. The 24 armor was too much to handle and a free strike and charge later got me the game. I still with I had eGaspy in that game though to cut off his firing lines.

Whooooah hold up now... 4 Deathrippers?!?! eGaspy hardly needs that many. I'd go with 2, 3 at an absolute maximum, and I'd put those points into 2 Warwitch Sirens to grant focus to the arcnodes while letting Gaspy save his for spells.

Havent even gotten to that entry to read it yet =)

Another question that came up the other day, can a Skarlock use an arcnode?

No as he is not part of the battlegroup.

For 50 I would definatly have at least min Soulhunters and Derragh Wreath in there. eGaspy's feat turn is a nightmare with them being incorpral and that really long charge distance, they can each hit the target individually and then move off leaving space for the next one to charge in and hit. I'd take out the unsupported Thrall unit and an Arcnode to fit them in.
