A post Brexit Wasteland

Im planning to start daemonhunters as i have recently taken a look at the models and they are good looking, this has provoked me to play as i am looking at stuff from more of a painting point of veiw rather than gaming opinion.

In the Webway.

It's almost always the models for me. I do normally wait and listen to the general theme of my army to see if it can fit my playstyle, which is quite flexible so normally no problems there.

Atm i have loads of armies on the go so i'm not looking to get a new army for some time. I may start collecting a dark eldar force in a year or two though.

When i get bored with my Imperial Guard Squats, They become Witch Hunter Squats or Daemon Hunter Squats. I really never include SOB or Grey Knights (other than a squad of badass termies), but Inquisitorial armies are so freaking fun! So... Much... Plasma...

A mixture of I plan it out and the background.

I switched from Speesh Muhrines to Tau mainly for the battlesuits, but also because I liked their diplomatic attitude.

I start new armies based off of conversions, for instance I'll come up with a way to convert the leader of an army just for kicks but then I'll look at the rest of the army and see if there are other units I could make my own version of. If an army has alot of conversion opportunities or I have alot of ideas for it chances are I'll start it, even if I've already made that army before.

I'm pretty big into the background myself. For example, I approach the hobby primarily from the modeling side and I really like trying conversions that fit in with the background story and fluff novels. I'll then come up with a small force to compliment that model so I can use it in a game. Painting a bigger force typically follows.

I chose to get a new one when I know enough about them, and when I know I can put up a good skirmish with said army...normally I like to learn as much as possible when playing something new

It's the fluff and models that pull me in.

Other:

For me its down to tactics rather than anything else, I have three armies, and I play each one differently as each army has its own character.

Tau I always play defensive, with gun lines, staying out of line of sight and generally doing what Tau do best and make the enemy come to where I want.

Marines I pretty much do what they do best, slowly march across the table while blasting away and shrugging off shots.

Orks ... ... come on, do I really need to explain my lust to see green skins belting across the table to exchange their ideals and political views with the enemy using nothing but sharp instruments?

Mine is totally influenced by look of the models and the fluff. Once those two are satisfied, I do my research because I would not want to buy an army that plays exactly like the one I have but just looks different.

I play SM, but I am seriously considering Eldar. Kinda night and day in regards to play style.
