2400 is a nice level. Heh, that would be great for myself as it would be pretty easy to take out 2 ungor raiders and fit in two tuskgor chariots.

I suppose the reason everyone is saying (including myself) 2500 is probably because tournament level play wasn't at 2000, but 2250, so we figure that the easiest way to settle it would be to just bump it up with the same points level we did last time.

Appreciate it, Salvage, as well as everyone who commented.

I am going to be running a list very close to yours (mines written for 3k so has chariots and minotaurs) and I'll be play testing for Cygor vs Ghorgon. I like both units and can see arguments for taking both.

The Ghorgon is a cc beast and if he gets into cc then he'll deffinitly be worth it against those large infantry blocks but I'm a little iffy about it because with the new rules a large number of gamers in my area have started taking as many warmachines as they can so I think (at least in my neck of the woods) that a Ghorgon would just be the first target for all of that fire. So he may not even get stuck in, thank god that the +1 to hit against large targets dosen't apply anymore.

Now the same can be said of the Cygor but at least he has the chance to hit back with being a stone thrower. Yeah 275 is WAY to much for just a stone thrower but people seem to forget that he has some monsterous stats and also benifits from the same things that effect the Ghorgons and giants and such in the new rules so while he may not be on par with the Ghorgon in cc he can still do some damage especially with being able to re-roll failed hits against units with shields. And as far as wizards go I've seen alot of people say that it isn't that effective which can be true but I only see that as a perk not a deciding factor.

So I'm just going to play test and see which one works out best. But anyway love the list

Appreciate the reply very much.

There was a YMDC thread on the re-roll to hits vs shields (as it makes zero sense no matter what way you try to justify it) with the cygor's ability, as the Cygor's ability is only supposed to come into affect against magical things and such, and having the skill to parry might be impressive, but theres nothing magical about it.

It ended pretty much with everyone saying that in tournaments they'd have to let it go, but in friendly games, they would have none of that nonsense.

And, I've convinced my GW (as it is sort of a deff-rolla thing before the FAQ covered it) that it really doesn't make any sense, so they don't do it)

I agree that the mage ability really is more of a perk, but I'd rather him NOT have it, and recieve a 25+ points reduction instead.

He is pretty much a very mobile stone thrower, that can do good work on a flank charge, but I'd just rather have a Ghorgon. The warmachine vulnerability is a given. If you're going to take a big beasty, you have to take that into account.

I can't really say that that would be good since it would take fire away from the rest of my army, as 2-3 cannons could take out my ghorgon in one turn pretty easily, and that's 275 points down the drain, and that's the exact reason that I only have one instead of two, if my opponent has cannons, he's pretty much resigned to death.

That's also a reason I'm not 100% set on a Ghorgon over a jabberslythe. I could just carry two lists that simply switched the Ghorgon and Jabberslythe.

The Cygor is out of the question.

Anyways, I wrote up a list for 2400, and I'll just post it for future reference.

For 2500, some pretty simple changes.

Like 'em. Let us know how they do.

Side note- I think your notes on the ungor raiders need updating. You have them at 5x2 and both ambushing...

“It was in lands of the Chi-An where she finally ran him to ground. There she kissed him deeply as he lay dying, and so stole from him his last, agonized breath.

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”
