Can I play this game too? Where are the terms fluff and rule defined? Where does it say that fluff isn't rules? If Skulltaker isn't a Herald of Khorne, does that mean all his Khornate gear won't work, since it's for Khornate models only?

In the dark future, there are skulls for everyone. But only the bad guys get spikes. And rivets for all, apparently welding was lost in the Dark Age of Technology. -from C.Borer

Can we back this thread up about half a page?

The only useful observation to be made is that there is no special rule in the Chaos Daemons codex to indicate which god each unit follows. There's each unit's almost full page of background material, and the name of the unit, and some text in the painting section, among other places, to indicate which god each unit follows, but no specific rule to do so.

Arguing about "He's a follower of Khorne because he has Fury of Khorne" or whatever breaks down because The Blue Scribes have gifts from three out of the four gods. More importantly, there isn't even any text restricting followers of one god from having another god's gifts, so Skulltaker could be an atheist.

If you, your opponent, or someone you know feels that its necessary to find a rule proving that Skulltaker is a follower of Khorne, you're not going to find it.

Right. And there's nothing that says the Warhammer 5th Edition rulebook has to be used to play Warhammer, so in the absence of any rules whatsoever, lets all go play Magic the Gathering or whatever.

As silly as the argument sounds, I think that barring an errata, Skulltaker Champion of Khorne, does not in fact follow Khorne (Maybe he's an independent contractor?)

Equally silly potentially, does the Avatar of Khaine ignore all attacks from Flamers of Tzeentch? They are Flamers.

No and no.

Another example of obvious intention being mangled by poorly written rules. You can play he's not Khorne if you insist but I think most people would take it as read that he is a Khornate Herald.
