Taking a grey seer with the 13th is going to be devastating now, especially if they have a block of really expensive infantry. throw 6 dice at it, who care if you it if the unit you are targeting is say 350 points and your grey seer is only 240. He might not even die!

Apart from if you get a double 6, he miscasts, and the miscast table now has penalties for the unit as well as the caster.

but the spell still goes off with IF....

The biggest bane of throwing bricks of dice at the 13th in 7th ed is that trumped

With that gone now it will be going off a lot more. Also, just move your grey seer out of the unit before you cast it. My point was that your 240 point lord could potentially remove a 300ish point unit from the game with no saves of any kind.

I, however, see White Lions rising to greater prominence. Stubborn using the Generals LD is incredible, while fighting with a max of one attack in the back rank means that the SM's advantage, instead of 2-1 is now 3-2 or even 4-3 (if you go 10 wide)

EDIT: In my first game with Ogres, I managed to table a skaven player's toughest list with average dice rolls (below average actually, I failed all my charges but gnoblars vs HPA and managed to have my tyrant fail two panic tests, and by big block 'o 18 bulls the first and only break test they were called upon to make) with what I had in my case. My first game with Ogres! Wether this says anything about me, my opponent, 8th, skaven or ogres, I'm not shure, I just thought the scaven discussion got buried under HE thoughts.

Upon consideration (barring the debated ruling on Speed of Asuryan), ranked White Lions will be phenomenal Cavalry/Monster killers now.

Have to see how the errata will go then for the Skaven and the Stubborn tests - certain things from the Skaven FAQ don't match up with 8th Edition (per the FAQ the doomwheel can still do it's pivot during it's random movement, which goes against the 8th rules).

Overrall though, I still think they'll be really nasty

Thing is, army book rules have always trumped BRB rules.

BRB says compulsory moves are point and go.

Army book says it moves 3d6 in the compulsory phase, and that it moves like a chariot...

Honestly, at this point, if there's a murky question regarding the new BRB rules clashing with a AB rule, it's worth just holding our breaths for the promised Errata (which should be coming out in 2 weeks or so). Then we can start to properly argue and/or complain .
