Dremels and metal minis can be bad. Pewter tends to bind up cutting discs way too easy- which means the fig goes flying, or the disc fractures. I stick with a jewlers saw for that, use the dremel for engraving type work. (I also dont like the idea of lead dust/particles )

Like I said, I was using a form of saw not abrasive saw (I hate those disks too). I wear a mask when I cut or grind metal and even with hand cutting you get the dust, it is just a matter of where it goes. I made a fume booth to paint inside and it does wonderful double duty to keep dust off the bench/floor/basement. I still drill by hand since it is super easy to go off kilter when drilling.

I like the challenge but when you pay what you do for a kit, things should fit without you needing to spend the time it could take to scratch-build a model.
