If you're a cruddy painter (or your painter is cruddy), your Librarian may indeed look like a rubbish Ultramarine proxy tossed in for the laughs, but it's really not that hard to personalise him a little.

Yeah, it's basically just to stand out from the rest, because Librarians are "suspicious".
I thought I read something to this effect in a WD years ago. However, if "chapter approved" libbys are all painted in UM colors, how do the UM's tell their libbys apart from everyone else? Other than the yellow loincloth, that is...
