Postman and Waterworld were decent post-apoc films.

The Mad Max trilogy is great, with the last movie being just not-so-great.

The Fallout games are pure gold to me. I just finished Fallout 1 again and I'm going through Fallout 3 before New Vegas comes out.

New Vegas looks like it will be Fallout 3's graphics with more of a 1 & 2 storyline with it having NCR in there and more establish society like the casinos and resource wars. The Brotherhood is more like they are suppose to be too, I hear, no more "helping the little man" bull.

A good comic series for zombie pocalypse is The Walking Dead. Absolutely love it. Nice and vivid, great characters, great action.
Buy the collections.

For Natural Disaster, I can't remember the name, I think it's called the Wastes or something like that.
It's about how a natural disaster feths the worlds up, focusing on a lone scavengers travels.

Also, Judge Dredd might fit into this catergory.

Go to hell.

Battlefield Earth is a perfect example of why Hubbard invented a religion, he can't write for gak.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

Hubbard invented a religion to get rich.

He knew he couldn't write for gak - but he was in good company - JRR Trollkin couldn't either (he was however, good at stitching together already extant mythology into a new tapestry. Even if it was turgid.)

Well if anyone would wish I could actually translate "Pocket-sized-apocalypse" a work by my brother Torquemada Stark
It's a funny post-apo story bout a guy who by mysterious means gets to the future where all is... well post-apo... It's latvian and funny as hell with some deep thoughts in it.
So if anyone would want to check it out give me a sign...

In Revelation Space

ChrisWWII wrote:A postapocalyptic book where humanity is actually recovering would be World War Z. I personally enjoy it quite a bit, and find the style its written in to be a nice break from most other forms of literature.

For games, I'd recommend the Command and Conquer (TIBERIUM) series. Tiberium Sun and Tiberium Wars really capture that 'humanity on the edge of extinction' idea, and aren't half bad games to boot.

Yeah, just read World War Z about a month ago. It's pretty awesome.

Also, even though the reviews weren't great, I thought 9 was actually pretty good for an animated movie. (The one about the giant steampunk robots chasing around the little puppet robots?)

This thread has helped quite a bit, and I've actually written down a list of titles to check out. (woot!)

Also, an idea for an awesome zombie apocolypse story:

Humanity has colonized the stars, etc, and there is this colony planet that gets hit by an asteroid containing a mysterious disease that turns almost evryone on the planet into alien zombie things. The galactic military (or whatever) is called in, sends tons of troops, and a planetwide battle erupts between the infected and the non infected. there would also be raiders and stuff.

(BTW by post apocalyptic I do NOT mean religious. I mean wasteland/wasteland filled with zombies/anything else like that.)
