I played two games with my jump BA versus SW this weekend, have another game scheduled this afternoon. BA units riding in a Stormraven are going to get the charge unless you destroy the gunship first... If the unit has jump packs there is still a good chance they will charge. The only fast assault units SW have are Swift Claws, Thunderwolves & wolfpacks. Rhinos you can roll up on, melta then charge the contents. Except for the Thunderwolves I see BA as having the advantage in getting off the charges. You just have to watch out for those Thunderwolves.

If we're doing HQ's then Bjorn the Fell-handed would probably cause some pain to a BA HQ especially if you took him with a lascannon and instant deathed Mephiston

A lascannon does not have high enough strength to ID the Lord of Death.

As Black Blow Fly said, The lascannon cannot ID Mephy. Nothing can except for weapons that cause ID regardless of Toughness.

And Mephy actually has a good shot at taking out Bjorn in CC. He'll strike at Str10, Hit on 3's, Needs a 3 to glance 4 to pen. Only thing that makes his hard is that damn Venerable.

Dont forget meph swings first, and also to reiterate, he is T6, so no lascannon ID ....

How 'bout the Sanguinor? from what I can tell he's a pretty mean character-killer.

I haven't the chance to use him yet but i heard that he decapatates hqs

And I am suprised that none of the BA players has pointed to fluff and Sanguinius. Seeing as he was the equal and even the better of Horus, and the Emporer in marshal prowess, being able to take either one of them with out any special powers. For shame

Anyways in a fist fight there would be no weapons, no special abilities, and most likely no upper hand in combat training. So it would come down to most experienced in combat and the one who can gain the upper hand and keep it.

With that being said I think, and this is solely based on my opinion of both chapters, that niether would win.

Spacewolves are to stubborn to give up, as are the Blood Angels.
