In playtesting the TLAC is doing ok
The AP is weak which is frustrating so def best employed against lightly armoured targets - AP11 or 10 is best - that way with the twin link you KNOW your going to get at least one round on target

My frustration now is I am running a dread and an Ironclad Dread but they really suffer against Chaos princes with their S6 2D6 armour pen I5 attacks..

When those prince(s) come with wings and jump from cover to cover I can try and land vindicators shells on them for a turn but after that is jumping straight into combat to butcher my [insert expensive strategic vehicle here]

My three favourite ranged dread weapons are the basic assault cannon, the las-cannon and the plasma cannon.

That way, the dread focusses on what its weapon shoots: light infantry, heavy infantry or vehicles.

TL autocannons I believe are not as good as assault cannons imo and I prefer to put my multimeltas on my landspeeders. They move faster, and can easily go around obstacles to blast a crater into the back of a vehicle, something a dread can't do unless he's in a drop pod

I like to imagine the Emperor kills so many Orks that he ends up half buried beneath a pile of corpses, with only his head sticking out. A lone grot stumbles across him, and starts choking him.

Then Horus comes across the lone grot, somehow managing to kill the Emperor, and punts it into space.

I ran the TLAC dread in tournament this weekend

Awesome

Loved him

Thinking of dropping the DCCW and SB for a second TLAC and making him a rifleman dready

Thats 4 twin linked St7 shots which would reliably stop (ie stun or more) a transport per turn - whichwith any luck is holding >200pts of troops while I take apart the rest of his army!

Must say the DCCW is very very nice too for those counter assault roles he is sometimes asked to handle

It tough

I love the ironclad

Love the TLAC

Want a dual role ranged/DCCW - maybe assault cannon for midfield?

But that means no assault termies without a master of the forge..

Its tough..

Gotta love Dreads though
