I should probably thin down this paint too. I never use it, so I haven't had a chance to thin it down yet. Should I make the scratches on the shoulder bigger?

Just in case your having camera troubles there is probably a little picture of a flower or a simplified flower on the controles of your camera there thats the macro function and when using it don't zoom it won't focus just move the camera closer.

So what is the reason behind the cat theme? Are you basing it on a historical culture or a fictional basis? I just wondered if this was just a paint scheme or a background driven idea?

Well, the general fluff behind this army:

A large group of marines left the imperium because they weren't happy, blablabla. They were formerly the 'Space jugglers'

On the way to the Eye of terror, their ships are attacked by imperial forces. The imperium quickly overwhelmed them, and they put all their faith in the chaos gods..None of them answered (not because they're lame or anything, just because they were too busy. They had doctor's appointments).

Suddenly, as they drifted, battered and beaten, down toward the nearest planet (Let's call it...Garvan IV), something answered their call. Wyskherz, the lesser god of whimsy and stubbornness, guided their ship into the safety of the eye of terror.


They eventually landed on an uncharted planet (which they later named Phelien) inhabited by the chaos beasts of Wyskherz. Casual, lazy beasts without regard for the Space jugglers. The space jugglers admired these beasts for their massive claws, sharp hairs coming out of their cheeks (which have no name, since house cats don't exist in the 40k universe) and their amazing coats. The space panthers soon repainted their armor to match these amazing beasts. They gave a proper name to these fearsome beasts...Tabbies.

After several years of surviving perfectly on this strange new world, the chaos god Wyskherz finally revealed that their well-being was his gift to them, gracious to finally have willing patrons.

After long deliberation and lazy afternoons, the space jugglers finally agreed to Wyskherz's terms. He needed men who had no regard for human life, uncaring, unsympathetic, and utterly vicious (in battle only). These men would be his legion.

They would be forever known as the "Death Kitties" and with their solid defense and immovable courage and determination, they would soon wreak havoc on the world of men.

Sure they do. They're just covered in spikes, skulls, and gratuitous amounts of GRIMDARK

Imagination is a wonderful (or scary) thing. Nothing wrong with cat marines. Sure beats the hell out of Ultras if done right (meh, lets face it, anything is better then Ultras).

I can see some chaos kitty marines all evil and such if done right. They would look awesome.

Yes, or they won't be visible at tabletop size.

You've got to exaggerate them to make sure they don't look like a mistake in the paint job,

If you are going to do a lot of them it's going to be easier to make the cat scratch logo into a decal you can print.
