kak happens... in retrospect though, even though I did a test fig first, I still could have done them one at a time... especially given the amount of time spent.

The mineral spirits definitely fully restore them while wet though! It is humid as all hell in Montreal today, not sure I am going to attempt the gloss spray today though. But I am becoming very hopeful!

I have had that happen, I asked a friend of mine how to fix it and he said to use Future Floor Wax. I haven't tried it yet but he says it works. He's a very seasoned painter too, so I assume he knows what he is talking about. As for an alternative sealer, I prefer the Testors Dull Coat.

Listen to "The Receiving End Of Sirens" they are GREAT

I just posted in your other thread... to say the same thing as behind the mask. Future floor finish is the way to go. It is self leveling (unlike most of the other suggestion) so will fill in the roughness and maintain transparency. It will come out glossy though.

Hey BtH, Asmith and all,

Got your message in the main thread, I appreciate the duplication, if any mods are looking, I hope you let this thread stand as it will be searchable later, whereas my main thread will move on with the project and this info will get buried, so I figured it is good to have both.

I will be giving the future floor finish a go, can I ask where to buy it? Also, application methods? What is it like to work with?

The gloss will be happening either way, so that's not neccesarily a problem, it will get dull-coated again.

The 2 issues to confirm/test are to make sure that A - The gloss coat is viscous/permeates enough to saturate the roughness and 'wet' it completely before it sets, ensuring maximum color recovery. B is to make sure that the resulting coat dries as thinly as possible in order not to have 2mm of varnish on the models.

you should be able to get it at just about any kmart, walmart, or larger grocery store. If you do a search you can probably get it online as well.

It's just like a clear acrylic paint, maybe feels a little bit thicker. Apply it with a brush, or if you want to use an airbrush you'll have to thin it. There are a lot of uses in modelling, a quick google search will probably turn up a bunch of alternate modelling uses as well. Hope you get things figured out.

Edit: Here is a link with some modelling background:

Looks like they might have changed the name to "Pledge with Future shine" I have seen the other version online and in stores recently so you probably should keep an eye out for both. pictures of the bottles are in the link.

Hope this helps.

Success!

Things finally cooled off here, so I gave the last series of fixes a go. Of all the fixes tried, the winner as stated by many: a simple-respray with gloss coat seems to have fixed them up back to just about 100%!

Will post pics when they finish drying off...

Guys, can't thank all of you enough for all your valuable and helpful input during my little crisis here. You are all awesome!

Cheers
