Do you go to sleep with wet hair? Because I was told that sleeping with wet hair could cause paralysis.

I also heard you may spontaneously combust if you go to sleep with wet hair

I forgot to mention that when my episode happened, my cat was sleeping on my head (I was laying on my side) so that may have had something to do with it.

What you have experienced is real. I have had the experience myself.

I read another article, apparently its really common in Japan...they call it "bound in iron". I dunno, maybe its time to call the doctor or start drinking again.

Sleep Paralysis happens a lot if you have Narcolepsy. It is normal for people to experience a couple of times in their life span, but if you are experiencing this frequently, you should probably look into getting tested for Narcolepsy.

The fear and hallucinations that most people have accompanying Sleep Paralysis is pretty common. So of all you people saying you have had sleep paralysis before and had the fear/hallucinations. It happens, you are not messed up.

But, if you have had it frequently like say 5-6 times in a year(or lifetime really). Go to the doctor, you got some issues you need to get worked out man.

Actually I have kinda the opposite thing going. Insomnia. Ive been on night shift for a while...which may be the cause? But it does happen way more than 5-6 times a year.

You think it is Insomnia, which can be mistaken for Narcolepsy since you work the night shift. You would be up at day with your "insomnia" and not able to sleep. Narcolepsy is not just a disorder where you get super excited and pass out. It has other symptoms and one that you just described to me with your "insomnia".

Go see a doctor. Tell us how it works out.
