Its like the conscience part of your brain wakes up....so you are awake but have no control of your body. Also the wierd part is I always feel like someone/something dangerous is in the room or i feel threatend by something.

I've had it where I can't move some of my limbs, but then I just used the others to move them and I was fine. I assume that I pinched a nerve or cut off circulation somehow while sleeping.
Perhaps you should go see a doctor?

Sleep Paralysis is actually what happens after you are abducted. Do you have a fear of grey-skinned creatures with large eyes? Do you sleep facing the window, and is your bed on the side or in a corner of your room?

I had that happen once and it scared the gak out of me. I woke up hearing (I know now it was me waking mid dream) in a childs voice, "theres a man standing in the corner" and I could actually see a shadow of someone standing in the far corner of my room, and all I heard was his breathing.
It was incredibly friggin scary, but I since learned what and how it happens. Still though, getting good and scared is still good and scared weather you understand it or not

Yea it can be different from person to person. Like I said I hadnt had anything happen sense. Apparently I had a waking dream, so I was dreaming still (obviously some type of nightmare) and I woke up but was still dreaming. As soon as I could move I jumped from my bed and took off, it just stopped. Infact alot of people think thats the main cause of "ghost stories" is something very similar.

Two questions: -How long does the paralysis last? -Can you still move your eyes? When you go into REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, you release a chemical which paralyzes the body so you don't hurt yourself, but in your dream your are still moving. If you have ever noticed that your hand grip is very weak in the morning, it's because you're still feeling the effects of the chemicals. Some people have a condition where their body doesn't release these paralyzing chemicals, causing them to thrash violently during their sleep. I suspect the reason you are having these sleep paralysis moments is because your body is continuing to release the chemical after you've woken up. I think you should definitely see a doctor.

I've had this happen twice.
You wake up sort of and you can't move. But you still believe the dream is real.
The one I remember there were some murderous women planning to do me harm.
It is quite concerning to not be able to move. But the last one was months ago.

My brother used to sit up in his sleep, then fall over sideways as his body relaxed. Meant he used to hit his head a lot - which would explain a few things
My wife also occasionally elbows me in the face when she is sleeping (as well as stealing pretty much the whole bed and all the covers - it is amazing how little space I now need to sleep in ) but I think that is just her rolling around trying to get comfortable in her sleep.
As to the actual topic - I've had what could be considered sleep paralysis a couple of times. Neither of them were scary - I just couldn't move for what seemed like a minute or two. Though I think one of those times was just me being lazy and pretending to myself I could not move

Vorlon, how many episodes in total have you experienced?
Years ago I occasionally experienced sleep paralysis, but nothing like twice a week. My understanding at the time was that it was harmless. And in fact once I understood it and knew what to expect, I learned to relax when it happened and the episode then passed pretty quickly.
Still, if it's happening to you a LOT, might be worth talking to your doctor who can then refer to a specialist that works in sleep disorders.
