Still.

Editing to add:
Then read page 21, 3rd paragraph--regarding "When are models in Cover?".
Specifically "from the point of the firer"
A model that is not firing is not a firer.

LOS is to the unit, yes.

But it is worked out from the point of view of the firing models.

So if I have a 10 man squad and only 1 can see through the window then the vehicle gets a cover save. Because the other members of that squad do not have LOS to it.

If you choose not to fire with the other models, you never establish whether or not they have LOS to the enemy unit. The shooting rules tell you to draw LOS from the eyes of the firing model... not from the entire unit, regardless of whether or not they are firing.

If you don't establish LOS from a given model, you don't establish whether or not the enemy is in cover from the point of view of that model, because determining whether or not the enemy is in cover is a part of the LOS process.

So, if you choose to fire with one model in the unit, you check whether or not that one model has LOS, and whether or not that LOS is partially obscured. The other models are ignored.

Elitest Jerk, it's not that difficult.

Yes, if only 1-4 fire and only 1 fire, then no cover saves are granted.
