Texas seems to have a huge Gaming community: Bols, Austin miniature minions..and those are not even historical or ACW, Napoleonic etc. Those guys have little soldiers in their blood. That or molten lead.

I'm new to Warhammer 40k but me and my friend been going to Xmax in Dallas (http://www.xmaxgames.com)
I'm going to try Comic Asylum in Garland (http://www.comicasylum.com) tomorrow (10/5) I haven't been there yet but my friend has. He said they have a very nice table set up.

Anyone near by is more then welcome to join us. We normally try to get together on Tuesdays with about 1500 points.

Xmax on Oram and Skillman has a couple of people show up on tuesday nights for some 40k if you are interested.

im in arlington...but im willing to travel to dallas to start playing... Ive been collecting and painting a blood angels army since april now and would really like to play.....im a newb that will prolly need some help with the rules for the first time or so....but ive painted up 2000 pts worth of tasty BA lookin to rip into and opponent. Whoever is interested lets see if we can get some schedule for a game in the next few weeks....

Looks like Xmax on Tuesday nights is a good place to do battle. I talked to some of the other people there they plan on doing battles pretty much every Tuesday if you're willing to make the drive. Around 5-6pm is when they start arriving i believe. The place stays open till Midnight.

so is there anyone close to arlington that is interested in playing? My schedule is full right now...in fact overflowing with commitments to school and fam, so if I could find someone to play for a few hours on the weekends that would be awesome.. once my sched loosens up I can travel around, but I dont have the time right now.

As far as saturdays and sundays the GW shop in Frisco always has people, but only three tables sometimes makes it hard to get a game.

The Hobby Town in Frisco/Dallas on the Tollway (Park) has a nice setup but I rarely see people there especially on sundays.

The community at the Frisco GW store is building some more tables.

Hope to have 3 more table there soon, so keep checking.

Really? It doesn't seem like they have room for 3 more tables. It's kind of a small store.

The HobbyTown is generally busy on Wed. night if you want to play 40k. It's super packed on Thurs. with WM/Hordes.

The Frisco GW store is opening up the back room (which can easily fit two 6x4), and add one 4x4 to the front.

Area51 in Grapevine is one of the funnest places Ive Played. There is a large crowd friday night, as well as people saturday,sunday,monday.
Area51 has 6 tables and is a great envioronment.

The GW store in Frisco also has a great crowd Saturday and Sunday.

Well, not sure whats going on but yesterday I noticed that Xmax games is gone.

Comic Asylum http://www.comicasylum.com/ opens their new location in Richardson next week 905 N. Jupiter Rd. #170, Richardson, TX 75081

They said that they will have more tables for 40k at this new location. Planning on going there on Tuesdays now.

I was wondering if some of the people who've been posting on this thread would be interested in meeting up to game sometime as a group. Maybe a once a month thing where we could set some time aside and get several games in. I live way out east so my wife is willing to let me run off for a day every once in a while. It would be a nice way for me to get more out of my gaming time since its hard to justify driving 3 hours round trip for 1 game. We would need to find a couple of good places to meet. Being new, it would be a learning experience for me. I just thought that I would throw the idea out there.

I bet we can get most of the dakkites in Dallas to meet up one day of the month. That would be Awesome, just need to get enough people on board, a good place to play, and a date. When I lived in CA, there was a monthly socal meet, so it shouldn't so hard to get one started here, seeing as there is a big gaming communtiy here in Dallas. Btw where do you live, 3 hours is a pretty long drive for a game.
