You said it yourself so I assumed you had the second printing version.

I do have the second printing and it doesn't say "leadership test", it does call it a morale test and does specifically call out fearless units and other units assumed to pass all morale tests are not affected by terrifying visage.

Ah see I have the first printing where it says to take a leadership test, and has no Caveat.

Is the Deceiver's dread the same with taking a Morale test, or is it the same as the first printing stating Leadership test?

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

2nd printing -

Deceivers Dread ability - It is a leadership test, followed by : "This does not extend to vehicles, fearles models, or any other model without a Leadership characteristic."

The C'tan Manifestation ability Does require a leadership test to be able to assault either of the C'tan, and doesn't mention fearless, failure will keep the unit from assaulting.

Was just about to point that out, what dancing cricket said. So I stand corrected on the Deceiver (I've never actually used him so I don't know his special rules).

The second printing of terrifying visage does actually still say it is a "leadership test", I thought it said morale test, but it does specifically call out fearless units and the like not being affected by it.

The situation the thead is actually about seems to be the perfect example of one you'd dice off on before the start of every close combat.

The second thought you posted is exactly why the failings of said FAQ are so frustrating.

K, thanks.
