Great sportsmanship Mercer - I like how you provided insites and suggestions to your opponent. Gracious but not condescending. As for your initial "mistake" with the Vindicator -

"When that Reclusiarch moved in and blasted my Vindicator in the first Angels turn I should have moved all Rhinos out and get a Prince into assault - though I would have thought 4 x plasma gun shots and 4 multi melta shots would have done the job!"

You did nothing wrong there - statistics dictate that you had enough shots to take him out - dice can be biotches sometimes.

I don't mind helping people in the game if they get a better quality game and learn, it's not cool losing all the time and your opponent being a hard ass and you just have to catch on. But at the same time I don't want to be condencending, help is there but I won't say if you don't want unless it really obivous.

Yeah the Reclusiarch should have died. I guess if I moved a Prince up I could have taken him out as a backup but what was shot at him should have finished him off.

Thanks for the comment.

Nice report! Princes are a tuff nut to crack especially when there are two of them. If i were the ba player here i would drop the jump packs on the dc and give them a ride. I use 5 in a razorback with a chapi and a pw and a pf. then the dont rage and the re rolls on the charge are just nasty! id also drop the sg and go for a baal or lrr. Im a huge fan of flamestorm cannons. Just gotta make sure to keep it safe. Hope this helps.

Death Co aren't good in a Razorback because they cannot assault out of it, plus with a Chaplain they re-roll to hit and wound.

Should take vehicles in pairs, not singles.

Justicar first things first I know what your going trough with the long break in the game as I my self just getting back from serving my country. That being said death co. is not a waist of points but run them with bolters and on foot as they have 2 attacks base and relentless, so they shoot 24 inches and you get alot of rounds down range, second not so many power fist and thunderhammers. A strategy i use is to balance out all your units. The vanguard vets are amazing especially in a BA list, but trow in a set of lighting claws, I dont agrre with the assaulting of the vindicator on the turn they arrived, as thats not where they were needed most. the sanguinary guard are a waist of points unless they can be counted as troops. I'd like to see you run some dreads in your list, the assault squads are great but BA"s are the only army in the game that can field 11 dreads or 6 preads in one list, so really the vehicles are where its at. If your going to take tactical marines go with a more traditional marine army with like four squads some termis, and a couple of devastators. Just tryin to give you some advice to catch you up. Other than that the reports look real good and i lokk forward to reading more of them hopefully with some blood angel victories.

You don't run them with bolters because you lose the extra ccw attack and on foot they can rage off but get taken down with ap2 fire too. Not a good idea.

The best way I have found to run DC is to put them in a LR and tool them up for CC.

You get them into CC quickly where they do the most damage and still have a full compliment (as long as your LR survives).

They are CC monsters but are way too expensive to make them competitive at the moment.

Dont know if you have any of the speci8al characters but seth with 20 deathcompany isn't that easy to kill and throw in a power weapon or two and your still going to hit with more than enough strength, and if they choose to shoot at death co. then everything else survives. but if they are in rhinos or on foot bolter is the way to go.
