If you had like 3 lightning claws int he squad the pariahs would just die.

The hardest units in the game are, depending on what you're fighting, BA Assault terminators with storm shields and a priest, or Nob Bikerz. No two ways about it.

Bikerz are more resiliant against small arms, and their would allocation allows them to take a lot of damage before losing bodies, while the Terminators are better against high-strength-lowAP weaponry that would negate much of the Nobz advantages.

There's really no other way about this.

I say TH/SS termies are the hardest basic unit barring any added IC's. If you play BA add a SP and the unit gets harder to kill.

Nob bikers with painboy attachment... A pretty beasty unit any way you look at it.

I run a nasty swiftclaw squad with 2 wolflords with SS, and a wolf priest, both lords have 2+/3+, one has eternal warrior, the wolf priest has a 2+/4+ and the swiftclaws can take nasty low AP/instant death kills which would kill the lords

It generally annoy's people a lot until the swiftclaws are all dead at which point it's not a squad and all the synergy falls appart...

Vompire, welcome to Dakka. Please use punctuation in the future. You’re arguments will be sign with greater merit and you’ll avoid people calling you on it.

I miss my third edition Wolf Guard Terminators. For 5 points each I could give each of them a runic charm that would let them reroll an armor save once per game. I played a 2500 point game against Necrons and only lost one Termie as a result. The rest of my army got beat up pretty bad, but that upgrade was ridiculous when fighting an army with no low AP weapons.

Kitted Thunderwolves with a wolf lord make nob bikers look like gretchin. I charged two wounded thunderwolves, a wounded thunderwolf battle leader and a wounded wolf lord on thunderwolf (all down to their last wounds) Saturday with a warboss on bike, 6 tooled up nob bikers with 3 PK's and 3 big choppas and a painboy with urty. These wolves ate the nob unit. But what do I expect when facing WS 6/Toughness 5, Str 10 thunderhammer-toating, storm-shield using (3+ Invul), saga of the bear (Eternal Warrior) characters wearing runic armor (2+ save)? Oh hey, your str 10 powerklaw warboss is usless vs my 3+ inv., but here's a str 10 T-hammer to your head...whats that, cybork on 5+...ahahahah you lose combat by at least the 3 wounds your warboss had...looks like I'll run you down with your crap init...now the guy I'm playing is a great player, but charging a death's-door twolf unit (with only 4 total wounds left) with a fresh nob biker unit should kill some twolfs...that near-dead unit cost me the game. (True, a fun game, but Thunderwolves are so damn broke). That was after they survived many STR 10 killa kan attacks from 6 kans, whom they also smashed....

Everyone says BA termies with lightning claws, thunder hammers and a priest...but what about with that librarian in there too who grants preferred enemy to the squad?! I'm sure I'm not the only jerk who runs this...

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Space Marine Command Squad can be kitted out better than TH terminators actually. Every model (minus the apothecary) can take TH/SS and also a meltagun or plasma gun. Add in meltabombs on every guy, one guy gets upgraded to champion (for rerolls) and one guy gets to lug a standard around... They're significantly more points than TH terminators, but can do a ton of damage...

I personally sometimes run them with LC instead of TH... They tend to wipe MEQ off the board.

Hmm....Khorne Terminators with Lightning claws and being chosen or whatever.

That gives them like 4 attacks each, I think. (Base two for being chosen, +1 for Khorne, +1 for Double Claws, Plus re-rolls for all of them)

Can cause some serious damage. You can take 10 of them too, which would be absurdly expensive in games under 2000 points though.

~~Oh wait. Never mind, it's much better than that. It's 530 points for the above unit, but being champions gives them base 3 attacks, which means they each have 5 attacks :3
