WombleJim- I hear ya! It's an art form, really... one thing to consider is waiting for the starter set to come out so you can order the cheaper mini rulebook from somewhere like The Warstore that breaks it out of the main box, but seeing as how that's not until September, I wouldn't be able to wait

I have discovered that my wife really doesn't want to know what these things cost (at least subconsciously) by how easily she goes along with my estimating the cost of everything down by about 50% . It also helps that I pay for things in cash... ah, the black art of continuing an expensive hobby while being married . On the whole, though, it's cheaper than many other hobbies out there, imho!

Do you already have some of the wood elves, or will you just be starting out with them? It's a cool time to start them (or start them again) imho, since a lot of people are migrating away from them for 8th edition. Makes for a unique army!

Yeah I think a lot of people think the woodies got goosed in the new edition but what can I say I like a challange (or should that be glutton for punishment )

I don't think my Mrs will mind too much so long as it doesn't get to a stage where we can only afford pot noodle for dinner. Besides if she doesn't ask then that is an unspoken agreement its ok

I will be starting from scratch so think the rule book and the battalion box is needed (don't need the glade riders but need to start a bits box again.) but not only do I need the models I need all the tools, paints brushes as well, it has been a very long time away from the hobby

right have my hands on the rule book now (told you RiTides ) and some slight alterations will be done,

first I will be dropping the dryads down to 11 models (this is more from a financial point of view as it will save me buying another box just to get the extra one I need)

this will leave me with 30 points to spare with with which I can get my Noble with Dawnspear an Ironcurse Icon and a Seed of rebirth (gives him a 6+ regen and my unit of Eternal Guard have a ward save against artillery) , and my Spellsinger a talisman of protection,

good list. just remember to test out dispell scroll in the place of divination orb (for me the scroll has been of more use)
