I think the consensus is
Firing Directly: Use Multiple Blast rules, each one scatters independently
Firing Indirectly: Use Ordnance Barrage Rules, first one scatters, any further blasts just roll scatter die off of that one

Right?

Right. This really isn't that complicated.

A manticore is a tank that comes with a hull heavy bolter and 4 seperate storm eagle rockets. Each turn you may fire a rocket. When you roll for how many shots it gets, you have three options for how the missile behaves:

- Ordnance Barrage 1, large blast
- Ordnance Barrage 2, large blast
- Ordnance Barrage 3, large blast

Unless otherwise noted, Ordnance barrage weapons may be fired directly, in which case they're ordnance 1, 2, or 3, large blast. They fire exactly the same way as an executioner.

If you're firing a weapon that has multiple shots and is a barrage weapon, you use the rules for multiple barrages.

If you're firing it in barrage mode and you only get 1 shot, then it uses the rules for regular barrages.

if you fire it barrage, you scatter one template and use the rest as an ordnance barrage scatter, so they all land in roughly the same place.

i voted option one - but now will be playing in a combination of option 1 and 2

so basically depending if it is fired directly or indirectly (barrage/multiple barrage)

Are we talking about indirect or Direct? For direct fire, it's option 2, for barrage I play it as option 1.

+1.. this is the way it looks like it is going

the mode of firing was not mentioned by the OP

So, it sounds like the consensus is that if you are firing the Manticore indirectly, you use the Ordanace Barrage weapons, where you roll for 2D6 scatter with one template, and then rolll just the scatter die to determine where the other templates (if applicable) will fall (option 1 in the poll). If you are firing directly, then you scatter each template independantly 2D6-BS (Option 2 in the poll).

Honestly, I have been playing mine by only using option 1, even for direct fire. Although, my D3 roles for the number of templates I get to fire are usually so crappy that the issue hardly ever comes up !

Remember if you fire as Barrage IN LOS you also get to subtract BS.
