It was a 2nd Edition game in a local gaming club not far from my School.
I played Space Wolves from sombeodyelse against Eldar.
A nice game I remember the fun, when his Warspider Exarch trew a Warpgreanade on my Space Wolve Captain which would have been his doom and my game would have been nearly lost, but there were this stragetgy cards back then. I played ,,Attention Sir...AAAAGH!" and my Standard Bearer could throw himself in the way. The Hero saved the captain, which in turn killed that Xenos and won the day.

Attempts by Company Commanders to call down close-ranged artillery fire can result in disastrous casualties amongst the Imperial Guard. Whilst the loss of life is regrettable, the waste of ammunition is INTOLERABLE! |

I can't even remember my first game of Warmachine and that was only about 4 years ago.
My first game of 40k was like 12 years ago, All I remeber about it was that it was the beginning of third, i had the Space marines that came i the Box set; 1 squad, flamer and Missile launcher, 1 Land speeder(I still have that model) and the limited edition High marshal model that came in the Box as a Bonus. Vs 20 Dark Eldar Warriors.

"Straight Fething Silver" Tanith first and only
I have a reputation, Modile, a reputation as a fair, honest man who treats his soldiers well and supports them in the face of darkness. Potentially, that reputation makes me soft. It seems I understand failure and forgive it. Some, like Kowle, believe me to be a weak commissar, not prepared to take the action my rank demands. Not prepared to enforce field discipline where I see it failing. I am an Imperial commissar. I will enflame the weak, support the wavering, guide the lost. I will be all things to all men who need me. But I will also punish without hesitation the weak, the incompetent, and the treasonous.
I am a Commissar. I am empowered to deliver justice wherever I see it lacking. I am empowered to punish cowardice. I am granted the gift of total authority to judge, in the name of the Emperor, on the field of combat.

First game for me was UM vs a 33 year old ex-army guy's DE. Needless to say he slaughtered me in a fittigly sadistic manner all the way to my Command Squad, who put up a good fight from a ruin and survived. The guy then taught me a hell of a lot about tactics over the next five years. Never enough to beat him though, that last hurdle was mine to cross alone.
But I did, when the GK's came out

It was a janky battle with my friend who plays tyranids.
I played with the AoBR space marine stuff.
So, he used about 6 carnifexii (back when they were 85 points) and a hive tyrant. He argued that since my list wasn't legal (the AoBR stuff.naturally) that he could do what he wanted with 600 points. Douche.
Of course I lost. I barely understood the rules back then. I didn't even use rapid fire the right way, I didn't assault correctly...The list goes on. It's hard to even call it a first game.

Happened a bit over 5 years ago, but I remember most of it.
I had Spase Mahrienz (Eventually Ultramarines adopted the Colour Scheme I chose (back then they were blue with yellow shoulder rims red weapons, so I went with a darker blue, gold rims and black weapons >_& gt )
Basically the 4thed Battle Force (Lascannon Razorback ) and a Dreadnought (Assault Cannon, Heavy Flamer goodness) with maybe an additional 5 Tactial Marines.
That was against Imperial Fists
Which was the 4thed Battle Force (Lascannon Razorback) with 3-5 Bikers with a couple of Assault Marines.
I think it was basically 15 Marines and a comand Squad back then.
Also there were Necrons there as well (It was a 1v1v1 game)
That was the Necron Battle Force (Same as now) with a Lord with Res Orb.
No to very little terrain.
My marines move straight over towards the Imperial Fists opposite. Dreadnough heads left for the Necrons (warriors were deployed in one big squad).
I shoot at them, then it's the Imperial Fists turn. They move towards my Marines, Bikes head for the Necrons.
Then it's the Necron's turn they shoot and pretty much go after the Imperial Fists.
I don't remember much of it except my Dread marched through all the Gauss fire, undamaged and proceeded to bash the crap out of the Lord and Warrior Squad for the rest of the game.
We had to keep checking the rules and only got through 3 turns before giving up on it
I also gave up on the game and came back when 5th was released as I heard it wasn't as junky as 4th had been.
I remember the fun of the cover system back then. Shin high walls, cat 1, cover save

I remember my first game, about a month after my first purchases (a Cadian Officer blister, x2 20 man shock troop boxes, two sentinels, and a Mortar). I played against Crimson Fists. I got flamed, boltere'd, and attempted to assault a Dreadnought with Guardsmen. This was nearly two years ago.
The highlight of the game was the SM Captain surviving 4 mortar rounds to the face. Ugh.

It was me. I didn't want to deal with it. I also tend not to play against people with sexist opinions unless I'm feeling particularly ornery that day (which despite my reputation is not normal for me).

Violent Space Marine Dedicated to Khorne

I was just before the start of "Fall of Medusa V" I had just gotten into the game and had very little for Chaos. Played the Khorne berzerkers all feel no pain except you could only give it to the SGT. Plus my opponent was a real jerk. Only thing was that I managed to beat him. Afterwords I could never beat him. I think he had thrown the game just to get me in.

I do remember. Necrons vs Orks. I took over for a friend who had a medical emergency. His opponent was okay with the 'pinch player' so we finished the game. I played the Necrons, and I seem to recall that I won, although I was in a pretty good position already.

Which happened to be a 500 point battle (not combat patrol) where mephiston jumped in and chopped up all my terminators, killed 20 genestealers with a sweep, and then ate plasma from my remaining 5 sternguard, killing him. (only time ive killed mephiston). I cant remember how the rest of the blood angels OR necrons died, but they did, and it ended up that 2 genestealers assaulted my one sternguard veteran sergeant with power sword and storm bolter. He killed one and the last genestealer AND last model on the board killed him
Thank you.

It was against orks.
The "battle of the farm" scenario from the RT rulebook.
Using RTB001 SM and metal space orks instead of the counters provided.
SM triumphant, but much reduced in numbers. Orks bottling.
I have old pics to prompt the memories.

My imperial guard versus my friend's imperial space marines. I won, barely. I still remember the consolidating into new combats that my friend did with his Chaplain. He killed around 17 Imperial guardsmen. Oh well.

Unfortunately, the internets will never see these pics. They were crappy pics taken on an old 110 (film cartridge) camera and do not exist in a digital form.
They are also slightly doggy, wrinkled, scratched and otherwise aged and don't scan well (I've tried). Were I to successfully scan them, they would still need a good 8-10 hours each to repair damage in Pshop. Something I'd rather not do (I'd rather watch Twilight whilst having my toenails removed with a spoon).
I don't even have the terrain OR specific SM models anymore (and I've never owned orks) so I can't even re-shoot them with digital.

Irked Necron Immortal

My first game was at my school, back when i was 9. I had a small force consisting of 2 units of necron warriors, lead by a necron lord. nothing fancy. I played against SM, but he decided to go ahead and use his whole 1k army. I was still very young so i did not realize that he was 'cheating'. later on, in turn 3 or 4, he was deep striking like mad, and the Tournie manager (just a teacher), disqualified my opponent. i just shrugged and played against another friend

Ah well, it was worth a shot.
Did you play with a GM, or did you and a friend just decide to play the scenario knowing the details in advance?

Just a mate and I.
No GM. Didn't need one. We took it in turns to do stuff the ' GM' was supposed to do if needed. We were rather well disciplined 19 year olds.
The only discipline worth a damn is SELF-DISCIPLINE.

I don't see how that matters. He beat you anyway.
My first game, not with my eldar but in a Games Workshop, was controlling a small portion of the eldar team vs the other 3 players on the Space Marine team. I controlled the Avatar and harlequins. I knew next to nothing about the game and as you would expect I didnt do very well. I think i was mowed down by a special character in a land speeder IIRC. Can't quite remember his name of the top of my head though.

First game I ever played was when second edition models were still available. It was a jacked up game too. I had ten Khorne Berzerkers and ten Plague Marines and both were the three piece second edition models that came five of each to a box for like $12.99. I also had a metal Khorne champion that everyone thought was Kharn lol. I won pretty hard core style too. Not much could be done about ten berzerkers backed up by ten Plague Marines in the 3rd edition chaos dex.
