Yeha, purple is cool. Lots of Souldrinker armies in our area are purple with a Serpedon to boot.

I'll see about possibly coming down, I haven't been to GE in quite a while now, especially since I've moved back to San Diego this summer.

Since I really haven't been at GE much since 5E came out, what types of armies and lists are usually seen?

Expect a wide range of armies.

I would say you could anticipate:

Horde Orks.
Battlewagon Orks
Missile Spam Wolves
Nurgle Chaos
a few run of the mill marine lists.
Mech IG
and depending on who else shows up:
Mech Blood Angels
Mechdar
Tau
Necrons
Daemons

We have a wide variety of armies.

Sadly, I'm going to have to pass as well. I've got some work to take care of on the weekend and I ended up playing in the Empire Games tournament in Pasadena a couple weekends ago, so I'm not craving to play like mad either.

It was a really fun tournament. Shane and I didn't have fully painted armies so we were just playing for best general. Dave is damn good though!

Dave played his themed Nurgle list.

I was playing my nasty Missile Wolves. The other top armies were Orks and another Wolf player.

Dave dodges a bullet by not pulling me or the Ork player as he doesn't have the tools to take either of us down without a great deal of luck.
