Too many eggs in one basket points wise. 3 Prisms would make short work of the unit.
Typhus/Abbadon is when you want to deep strike the lot
Ahriman/Abbadon is when you stick ahriman in a
LR, rush him up the gut, use his built-in-beacon to guide Abbadon/Oblits and join them in the same movement phase.
Either way, as mentioned, not many ap2 pie plates, I would eat your 3 prisms alive with this combo on a BAD day, now, had you spent those three
HS options on Scatter laser War-Walkers, I would be far more afriad (due to the sheer volume of fire/2+ to wound) Also, one huge benefit (I have seen anyway) is that when 1 of your oblits dies (with
th Typhus combo) you have just become "Majority Toughness 5" which can be a major pain in the ass to some "high-volume" players.
Typhus
225+275+225 = 725 points for 14 wounds of 2+ saves, 4 of them are
EW, 4 of them have Feel-no-pain all of them are either
Str 8 in melee, or wound on a 4+, 8 of the wounds are t5, 6 of the wounds have almost every ranged weapon in the dex, the other 8 wounds not only have formidable shooting, but GODLY melee abilities (with a potential 40 attacks on the charge, 10 of which, can individually be used as Psychic attacks) AND defensive grenades! Deep-striking death!
vs the 600 Points that 3 termi squads (or 2 with 1 re-inforced) would cost you for significantly less power.
Ahriman
225+275+250(+240 for the
LR if you go this route, I sometimes just have him 'Hijack' a rhino) = 750 points For a VERY decent versatile unit. (3 GoC removal casts per turn, or 2 casts and a warptime, guided Deepstrike capabilities, 4+s when you need them 2+s when you don't, not as nice as the Typhus combo, but still deadly in its own light)
CSM get their punch from their
HQs, most people don't realize that the one thing that makes Oblits more of a consideration then Defilers (and rarely at that... Defilers are broken as hell) is the fact that you can stick the overpowered
HQs to them.
