GW have, as stated before, taken steps to reduce the amount of packaging they use.
The polymer/resin they use WILL be part made up of recycled content.
Yeah, GW could be doing more, but taking the UK into consideration, there is no adequate infrastructure to enable high level waste recycling. The best we get from collections is that the waste isn't incinerated and is either shipped to other countries for incineration or shipped to countries who can recycle, then the material is shipped out or back again as raw material. component parts etc (not really environmentally friendly).
GW cannot just turn used/old sprues or cardboard packaging into new products, GW would itself need to invest in its own plant and would need to generate much more waste for that to be effective.
I would say GW's waste footprint per consumer is pretty low compared to that of even humble roll of toilet paper when considering manufacturing shipping and storing and ultimate disposal.
