Thats an old termie i painted when the newer termie plastics came out. Its a base or regal blue, built up with regal blue/ultramarine mix until pure ultra is being used for highlights.

the red is basically the whole GW range scab, gore, blood the a small highlight of blazing orange.

the bases are really simple, just sand them before priming in the areas you want to loo muddy, paint them dirtys browns.

the watery area is painted dirty browns again, but getting lighter towards the edge of the puddle to create depth. gloss flor varnish was then added in layers to create the water effect.

Also, this project is not dead! i was on call last week, so got nothing done... Im also waiting on some new paints, but the bank holiday weekend is hampering this!!

Hey Liam, good to see my 2nd edition metal termies got a good home after all. Plus the Power fist combo really suits your chapter. I will start hunting our Powerfist veterans from yester-year for you, the old ones that were usually veteran sergeants. I am after the old captain with the bionic leg, bald head and his fist clenched with a Bolter resting on his hip for my Bear Claw Master of recruits "Chief Dancing Hawk". My furious claws will be done when I get back, (Assault Marines to you and me!).



So if any of you have a model like this give me a shout and I'll strip him and make a Bear Claw, I'll give him some feathers a mohawk etc.

I cant seem to find a colour i like yet, i was going to use my original colour scheme, but have since decided to try any emulate the colours from the rogue trader ed. This blue wasnt as deep but cant find a good match... any ideas?

Cool! Good to see I'm not the only one rockin' the old models! My 6000pts of marines are about 2/3 Second Edition and 1/3 early Third with a single RT model. Except for one older gent at the FLGS, I don't ever see anyone fielding the retired models locally except me. Will you be using the old rule of banners for sergeants?

Love the Crimson fists, After my recent tournament drubbing, I am thinking of changing to a Crimson Fist Army, as I like Sternguard and I want a heavy hitting close combat unit, probably based around an Honour Guard Unit with Pedro Kantor. Thinking about a Vanguard unit with lots of Lightning Claws Plus Pedro would be quite devastating. Equally Sternguard are elevated to a 3 attacks, ( 4 on the Charge) if within 12" of Pedro. Insanely good, and hopefully enough for me to get passed those annoying FNP units.
