I would look at a combo of 1000-sons and perhaps icon CSM. The Icon CSMs fulfill the CC needs and still have a 5+ invulnerable for a lot cheaper. With 5th ed being vehicle heavy, S4 AP3 bolters are very limited role in your army and counting on 1 S8 shot from a sorcerer is not too dependable for the cost to cover AT needs.

Tear OF The Angel wrote:I actually miss the last codex for CSM. BAck with all the books of Chaos, when you could take Rubric terminators. IC, chosen and possesed that auto passed every psychic test, and the opion to deck your characters out the way you see. fit. Taking 10 chosen sorcerer as 1 unit. Dear GW please bring back the chaos books.

If worse comes to worse, ask your regular gaming buddies if they would mind you using the old CSM codex. I certainly wouldn't have an issues with it at all.

What about using demon princes with lash to bring a unit out of cover and then hitting them with a unit of thousand sons? Could a Slaanesh/Tzeentch combo make them a viable unit choice?

Yes, but then the army relies on Lash (which is bad) and secondly it's not a Tzeentch Prince (at face value, for better or for worse).

Relying on Lash is the first step onto the road of poor generalship, IMO.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Plus a Daemon Prince is a big target for lascannons/melta. Lash IMO isn't worth losing the 4++ save from Motz
