Just pointing this out, if you are using a 70pt model to kill a 35 point model (50 in some codex I believe), you are losing out.

If it were a Vindi though I'd say it is useful.

Also littlenibbler Orks aren't about armour saves.
Orks are about having too many models on the table, and wasting the other guy's time with your movement phase.
Orks are about having the toughest units on the table.
Orks are about not caring about how many bodies are left in a long winding trail until the squad is down to less than a third its starting strength.
Orks are about rolling more dice then you can count without the aid of a calculator or a pen and paper.
Orks are about having totally fething insane characters tearing gak down like Doc Grotsnik, Ghazghkull or Snikrot.
Orks are about being too fething awesome to die...

I totally agree, but I quoted him on the rhino

I'll gladly trade my deff koptas for a more costly unit, but generally not for a rhino.

Well, look at it like this...Rhino is not just a 35-point vehicle. It's also the means to get the player's Marines or Sternguards across the field, where they can tactically outmaneuver an Ork army. Without that transport ability, that tact squad is as good as dead once you get to charge them. That's also 1 scoring unit left without a transport.

So while I agree that stuff like Vindis, Predators, etc are juicer target than a simple Rhino, if a Rhino is your option, it's by no means a bad one to take out.

I actually played a game against SM's with a list nearly identical to this last night.

The list was fairly effective sans a few things. The Grotzookas didn't do a thing for me, nor did the big shootas. Go all Rokkits.
You need 2 Big Meks to keep the KFF up. It'll drive your opponent nuts and keep you making saves.
My deff Koptas wrecked his tanks. Plain and simple these are the turning point for my army. They alpha strike tanks and seriously cripple an opponents ability to do much damage first turn, or stop transports from doing their job. This can really set the pace for a game in your favor. Run them as 3 seperate units as well.
My opponent ran a vindicator and it actually was able to shoot for 3 rounds and didn't do anything really. I think he managed to kill 3 boyz with it. The KFF is king.
30 boyz is too many. You need maybe 22 + Nob. They don't need any heavy weapons as they should be running towards the enemy to get into CC. I would advise running 3-4 squads of 22 + Nob with PK / BP
I actually bought a box of lootas immediately after my game. They are 100% necessary in this type of list. They can sit and hold an objective while laying down serious damage to enemy armour. If you can run 2 squads, do it.

My list after being revised post-game last night (ended in a tie for take and hold spearhead on turn 7). I don't have my dex and haven't hammered the points down, but if the points are there, i'd like to add 5 more lootas or another squad of 22 boyz.

Like your list, but I'd add 5 more lootas in exchange for 1 koptas... 2 koptas is enough at 1500... And 1 squad of lootas will get punished easily..
