I like how they look. For the flaming beard: is it really that much harder then sculpting a regular beard? I know I use bits of ork topknot for candleflames all the time, so...

A Squeaky Waaagh!!

Camkhieri: "And another very cool thing, my phones predictive text actually gave me chicken as an option after typing robot, how cool is that."'

Meercat: "All eyes turned to the horizon and beheld, in lonely and menacing grandeur, the silhouette of a single Grot robot chicken; a portent of evil days to come."

You mean the hair on the boys? That sounds like an idea...

Two things:

1. Just for fun, I painted a few Goblins and such. I doubt I'm gonna field large Gnoblar units in this army, but those were fun to paint so I'll probaly get more.

2. I'm not sure about the whole flaming beard thing anymore. The model looked great when I built him, but I don't think I can actually model him a bear that would look good

.

1. Gobbos are looking good, especially the monkey

2. For the flaming beard, have you consider blue flames? I'm not 100% sure it would fit the palette of the model, but it would make it clearly supernatural and draw attention to the face.

It's not supposed to be supernatural. It may be with my inspiration for this model, LeChuck in The Curse of Monkey Island, but the plan for this dude was just, "feth it, I'm going to lite myself on fire just to scare the crap out of my enemies".

If you get what I'm saying.

I think the thing that is letting the beard sculpt down is that fire naturally rises, and the tongues on the beard are pointing down, so it doesn't look like actual flame. Invert the tongues you currently have, and it will look fine, I reckon.
Fantastic idea for a force though, and really well executed.

You know pirates actually did this right? they would twist cannon fuses into their beards then light them before battle to have sparks and smoke smoldering out of their beards and giving them a demonic appearance, I don't think actual flame rose out though as that would have burnt their faces and impeded their vision quite a bit

Yeah, that's probably what was bugging me as well.
And thank you.

Yeah, I know. My Ogre was supposed to be a combination of LeChuck and Blackbear actually. The problem is, the head I'm using doesn't have a lot of beard to begin with.

I get it . You could try adding some cotton or wool for a smoke effect? That, and having the points of the flames go up would probably help out a lot.
