Don't forget that most bugs don't have assault grenade equivalents anymore. You make that Genestealer brood assault you through cover, they're going at I 1. You may lose furious charge this way, but dumping 40 ws 4 st 3 attacks on them at I 2 before they get to swing is more effective than charging them, getting mulched by I 6 attacks, and then having 5 boyz left to throw ST 4 attacks at I 3

I can tell from what youve said, youve never used Gits. I run a full squad of 10 with shootier and more dakka, and if points permit, stick them in a battlewagon. Trust me, they are DEFINITELY awesome at anti troops. BUT its like most things in the Ork codex, if you dont go nuts on them, they wont work. Going less then 10, is a waste, and not putting them ina vehicle, is a waste. Even with poor AP rolls you can still pulverize any troops unit with them. Again, against ANY of the Nids troops choices, they DO NOT get an armor save on the worst AP roll. 20 shots a turn, with no armor saves from a str6 weapon is just silly for the nids, they die.

Infact the same idea works rather well against any other armies, specially if you get a good AP roll. Again, against MEQs, a good AP roll will show you wiping out an entire unit from their shooting. So please tell me how exactly are they awesome at nothing? Not to mention they surprise the hell out of people when you bring them. Everyone thinks they are just garbage, but when you roll up in a BW and smoke a unit this turn, smoke a unit next turn and murder a HQ the turn after that your opponent will freak. They are perfect, because everyone ignores them for thinking they are sucky.

Not to mention if in a bind, they are nobs in CC

Are you meaning worst for the Tyranids? Sure, nothing in the game gets a save vs ap1, but Tyranid troops can have 3+ saves. . .

Sheesh I should read their codex again( its been forever) I was mainly thinking about the normal gaunts, as those are the bulk of what you see.

And even so, youve got a decent change of rolling a 3 or better for the AP.

Wow, 500 points for a unit that can get on average 6-7 hits, and don't even always pierce marine armor? Holy hell, I can take 7 hydra flak tanks for that point, and get 21 hits, and I don't EVEN CARE if I ignore marine armor, they're STILL going to off more of the suckers.

Your backhand insults are not going to make the worst unit in the ork codex good.
