Oh no...Gah. I hate shows that try to ram political messages down kid's throats....they then grow up thinking people who do a certain thing are evil, because the show potrayed them as such. If you're going to educate kids about an issue....actually, don't even try. They'd rather watch Spongebob than try and learn.

I don't recall any of the cartoons I watched as a kid trying to have any kind of sociopolitical relevance.
It was more about fighting aliens and Skeletor and Mum-Ra and whatnot. Oh, and Cobra. I feel like I'm better for it.

And didn't heman have a minute at the end of every show where they gave you some inspirational message like stay in school or don't do drugs? I recall most shows from the 80's had some message at the end of them.
